● Address concerns regarding on-street parking congestion created by visitors to the Alamo Heights Little League and other unrelated fundraising events
• Little league games are the greater contributor to on-street parking during the regular season, post spring league tournament and off-season leagues

● Available off-street parking can become overwhelmed with the overlap of games in progress and the next scheduled games
• The greenspace adjacent to the nature trails and swimming pool is used for large permitted fundraising events (5K-10K runs, Pooch Parade, Evening in ‘09)

● Multiple options have been considered to address parking congestion on Alamo Heights Blvd adjacent to the little league complex
• Consideration: restrict parking “at all times” along the north curb line of Alamo Heights Blvd from its intersection with Jones Maltsberger/Devine Rd to the intersection with the 100 block Alamo Heights Blvd, southbound

• Consideration: place signage at the corner of Alamo Heights Blvd and Viesca directing drivers to available little league parking on the Viesca side of the little league complex

Restricted and time limit parking zones may become necessary in areas where vehicular mobility and pedestrian safety are compromised by on-street parking congestion. The creation or repeal of restricted and time limit parking zones by a municipality is authorized in Section 542.202(a)(2) of the Texas Transportation Code and Alamo Heights City Code Section 18-99, “Designation and Marking of Parking Spaces and Where Parking is Prohibited or Limited”
