Zambia is a nation on the rise, with an economy projected to be one of the ten fastest growing in the world between now and 2015.
At the heart of this growth is Zambia’s booming agriculture sector, accounting for 35% of the nation’s GDP which equates to around $4.5billon in real money. The expansion of small scale farming and the development of emerging and commercial farms are the key contributors to growth of the agriculture sector in Zambia. Now, as a result, international companies are heading to Zambia to take advantage & contribute to the wealth and opportunity of Africa’s new agricultural hub.
Large scale business-to-business events servicing the needs of the modern agricultural professional are non-existent in Zambia. Agricultural “trade-fairs” have been common place for many years, but their public nature has detracted from the business aspects of the event, and both exhibitors and professional visitors are beginning to lose interest.
With the launch of Agritech Expo in 2014 the way the Zambian agricultural community views trade events will change forever…
WHY ATTEND AGRITECH EXPO 2014?• Grow your business and increase profits
• Meet new suppliers and network with industry professionals
• See the latest in agricultural technologies and solutions
• Test machinery and equipment
• Compare crop yields and agrochemicals on live crop trials
• Enhance your skills and knowledge
Find it all in one location. Only at Agritech Expo 2014.

One of the greatest challenges facing farmers across Africa is maximising the potential of their arable land by increasing crop yields. Average crop yields across Zambia are 1.5-2 metric tonnes per hectare where there is genetic potential to achieve 8-10 metric tonnes per hectare in some maize varieties.
Agritech crop trials will give you a first-hand opportunity to see the effects and benefits of fertilisers and pesticides produced by exhibitors including BASF, Seed-Co, Zamseed, Klein Karoo and DuPont.
Agricultural machinery is a staple of every farm in every corner of the world. Whether you need tractors, combine harvesters, bakkies or quads you will find them at Agritech.
What’s more, you can try before you buy. Observe and test-drive the latest agricultural machinery in one of our 11 Working Demonstration Areas from companies including ActionAuto, John Deere SARO & Tractorzam.
Irrigation is one of the greatest challenges facing small scale farmers as they look to expand their operations and increase their crop yields. Effective water management on farms of all scales is a key component to reducing costs and increasing profitability.
Unique to Agritech 2014, the Irrigation Zone will allow you to directly compare irrigation solutions from the world’s leading suppliers including Lindsay, Irritech, Agriplas, Copperbelt Irrigation & Green2000.

Zambia is a leader in the SADC region in developing commercial agriculture, and the growing
interest in the country in developing improved mechanization, inputs, storage and services can serve as a resource and example for Zambia’s neighbors. USAID’s Southern Africa Trade Hub is supporting AgriTech expo to expand its reach and focus in order to serve a broader, regional audience by introducing needed technology and agricultural services to improve food security.
The Trade Hub is also sponsoring technical workshop programs at AgriTech Expo that will offer case studies, business tips and best practices for soil quality, mechanization, increased yields and sustainability. USAID is assisting this inaugural AgriTech Expo to reach the greatest number of stakeholders possible in an effective and compelling way, helping the Expo exhibit the latest technology and techniques available to increase on-farm success and secure farmer incomes.
The USAID Southern Africa Trade Hub is a four-year U.S. government-funded program designed to increase international competitiveness, intra-
regional trade and food security in Southern Africa. The Trade Hub’s agricultural activities are driven by USAID’s Feed the Future Strategy and focus on intra-regional trade in the targeted value chains of maize, soybeans and groundnuts. Primary support is directed to the Feed the Future focal countries within the region (Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia) with special emphasis on encouraging investment and technology transfer from South African organizations in line with USAID’s Strategic Partnership with South Africa. The Trade Hub also supports the African Competitiveness and Trade Expansion (ACTE) initiative.
With a team of regional and international experts based in Gaborone, Botswana, the Trade Hub provides targeted technical assistance to governments, the private sector and civil society organizations to advance
regional trade within Southern Africa. As a regional program the Trade Hub works to strengthen the competitiveness of the grain, soy and groundnut value chains by reducing post-harvest losses, introducing better seeds and technologies, strengthening regional agricultural institutions and supporting trade and investment links.
