As a guide, if feeding Biscuit Cereal Meal, you should introduce slowly to adult dairy cows at 500g per cow per day, increasing to a maximum of 4kg per cow per day. DRIED DISTILLER’S GRAINS WITH SOLUBLE (DDGS)

FEEDING RECOMMENDATIONRequirements will differ depending on the current diet. it is recommended a maximum of 20% (of total ration) be fed on a dry matter basis. Consult your nutritionist or farm consultant to determine the optimal inclusion level for your particular situation. Suitable for all feeding methods, especially mixed with silage in the paddock or on the feed pad.

STORAGE Store in bulk bins or place on cement slabs away from vermin and protected from the weather. Generally, DDGS will contain average to low moisture levels. When properly stored, the quality of DDGS will be maintained.

Distiller’s Dried Grains with Soluble (DDGS) is the dried residue remaining after the starch fraction of maize (Corn DDGS) is fermented with yeasts to produce ethanol. Once fermented, steps are taken to create the DDGS: Ethanol is removed by distillation process where the remaining fermentation residues are dried which results in the final DDGS product.

Kibbled Maize is a dry feed sourced from locally grown New Zealand maize; processed from whole maize kernels. it is an ideal product to blend with other safe feeds to provide a balanced, energy-dense feed option post-calving.

PALM KERNEL EXPELLER (PKE)

FEEDING RECOMMENDATIONSuitable for feeding to lactating dairy cows. Requirements will differ depending on the current diet. As a guide, if feeding PKE, you should introduce slowly to adult dairy cows at 500g per cow per day, increasing to a maximum of 6kg per cow per day. Suitable for all feeding methods. ideally suited to feeding in conjunction with high energy molasses or maize silage.


Palm Kernel Expeller (PKE) is a by-product of the palm oil extraction process from the fruit of the palm. PKE is a quality stock feed containing high levels of crude protein and medium energy levels. it is completely safe to feed as a supplement for most classes of livestock.

AGRIFEEDS PKE IS DOUBLE-SCREENED TO ENSURE BIOSECURITY AND QUALITY. Ministry of Primary industries (MPi) requires that all imported PKE is screened when it arrives in New Zealand. On top of this, Agrifeeds PKE is hammer-milled, screened and magnetised at origin to a consistent high-quality.

AGRIFEEDS PKE IS SUSTAINABLY SOURCED FROM ACCREDITED PLANTS. All PKE product plants are iS09001 approved and audited by the Australian Quarantine and inspection Service (AQiS). Agrifeeds parent company, Wilmar, have complete ownership of the supply chain on which they apply a holistic approach to sustainability to minimise their environmental footprint. Their No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation Policy, the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), international Sustainability and Carbon Certification (iSCC) and continual stakeholder engagement form the basis on which they seek to achieve sustainability goals.

AGRIFEEDS PKE CONTAINS A CONSISTENT HIGH FAT CONTENT. Our PKE is produced by a mechanical extrusion method which maintains a higher oil content in the final product than chemically extruded PKE which typically has a 3% fat content. A higher fat content translates into more nutrients available to the animal, meaning more value for money.

ROLLED FEED BARLEY

FEEDING RECOMMENDATIONintroduce slowly at 0.5kg, building up to a maximum of 3.0-4.0kgs per cow per day. Do not ad-lib feed or feed alone. Adequately blend with PKE and forages to avoid potential ruminal acidosis or SARA (subacute ruminal acidosis). Total feed blends should not exceed 50% Barley and total feed amount should be individually fed ideally and access time limited.

With barley, always feed Rumensin® (or other ionophore products) and Vistacell live yeast when feeding this high starch feed source. Always feed barley with a fibre/chewable roughage source, plenty of water and mineral rumen pH buffers in the same mouthful (salt, sodium bicarbonate etc.)

FEEDING RECOMMENDATIONSoy hulls can be used without major restrictions in properly formulated dairy rations. This product can be fed through the feed pad, in-shed feed systems and in a trough. Works well with PKE within a blend formula.


SOY HULL PELLET

Soy hulls are a by-product of soybean oil and meal production. This product consists largely of the skin which covers the soybean. Soy hulls do not generally need any further processing to feed, and is a very cost effective feed for the dairy industry.

FEEDING RECOMMENDATIONintroduce Forti-Min + Zinc Oxide TS-99 slowly before facial eczema risk has peaked. Feed only at the inclusion rate as per the total feed rate on the above table. Do not feed less than the minimum rate unless the herd is meeting its zinc requirements from other sources e.g. Zinmol.
