The aggregate resources in Peel consist of sand and gravel, shale and bedrock, including dolostone and limestone, that are used in road construction and as a construction material.

The mineral aggregate resources policy review will:• Ensure conformity

and consistency withupdates to theProvincial plans andpolicies.

• Examine emergingtrends and bestpractices includingcomprehensiverehabilitationplanning, cumulativeimpacts and thesiting of aggregaterecycling facilities.

• Update mapping ofHigh PotentialMineral AggregateResource Areas.

Peel’s mineral aggregate resources policies and mapping will be reviewed and updated as a component of the Peel 2051 Official Plan Review however, this work will be completed as a separate phase on an independent timeline.
