:Setprint

When working with :Avanxis IV you can make the move to CtPvery smoothly using :Setprint Plus polyester plates. :Setprint is a poly-plate that is designed for convenient highquality 4-color printing.

Agfa will continue to develop new and improved products andsolutions that exemplify our innovation and commitment tothe graphic arts world.

An ideal match with a new range of imagesetters

The :Avanxis IV imagesetter can output both film and :Setprintpolyester plates.:Avanxis VIII is dedicated for filmsetting only.

:Avanxis IV is a 4-up machine, whereas :Avanxis VIII is the 8-up solution.

4-up film andpolyplateimagesetterThe :Avanxis IV is a capstan based imagesetter for 4-up formatjobs. It can handle sizes up to 558 x 609 mm or 22 " x 24" andis intended for resolutions from 1,000 until 3,000 dpi.

Wide choice of output media

With :Avanxis IV you can image films such as :Alliance or:Impower-Plus as well as polyester :Setprint-Plus printing plates. This engine is a fully automated prepress production systemthat can also be considered as an entry level CtP device.

Superiour precision imaging

:Avanxis IV has a capstanbased imaging system thatuses a 5-facet polygonmirror that reflects aprecision laser diode beamthrough a speciallydesigned lens to narrowthe beam and project itonto an exact point. This high repeatability andaccuracy can be achievedon a variety of outputmedia.

This machine has a remarkable registration accuracy of +/- 25 microns (+/- 1 mil) for your colour separations and+/- 50 microns (+/- 2 mil) for your polyester plates.

Speed up your pre-press process

The :Avanxis IV can image a B2 page in 30 seconds (at 1,200 dpi). This is made possible by the very high spin speeds in theimaging unit and the improved SCSI data transmissioncapabilities… without quality compromises. These improved capabilities will get you a data transmissionrate of 20 MB per second. The :Avanxis IV machine willreceive information in 2 MB batches. This assures that data istransmitted to the imagesetter with a minimum of delay.

Easy-to-use display

The comprehensive user-interface makes :Avanxis IV easy tooperate. It shows options for output conditions, the media-type that is loaded and selected size to be imaged. It can evenconvey messages from the on-line processor.

Reliable media handling

:Avanxis IV has an autoloading function that makes mediahandling real easy. Once the media is in the machine, everything from exposure to punching, cutting and processingis performed automatically. On the output end, there is abuffer zone between the drum and the processor in order toprevent obstruction of media.

Automatic punching

The :Avanxis IV features the most current punch formats. Please contact your nearest dealer for more information.

Integrated online processing

The on-line processor, with its bridgeless design, is a compactunit which keeps the footprint to a minimum. The internaltank is 20% deeper than those of similar models making alonger transport stroke possible. It also ensures the processorto keep up with the imaging speeds.

:Avanxis VIII

8-up filmimagesetterThe :Avanxis VIII is an external drum imagesetter for 8-upformat jobs. It can handle sizes up to 838 x 1,146 mm or 33 " x 45"and is intended for resolutions from 1,200 until 4,000 dpi.

Top class precision

:Avanxis VIII works with anexternal drum system, whichensures for extremely highprecision time and time again. This fine piece of machineryexcels at difficult tasks such asmultiple separations of asingle page on the same sheetof media. This is madepossible by preventing filmdistortion with a low-stressloading system that puts

minimal tension onto the media during loading.

Speed up your pre-press process

For a media size of 810 x 1,120 mm (31.8" x 44.1") at 2400 dpiit can comfortably output an amazing 20 flats per hour. Even ifyou take the punching and cutting into account, it will still beable to handle 17 flats per hour in perfect register. And what’s more… on the input side of the machine it canreceive data at 16 MB/sec, which further makes this a machinethat will shorten your pre-press workflow considerably.

Easy-to-use display

The touchscreen user-interface makes :Avanxis VIII easy tooperate. It shows options for output conditions, the media-type that is loaded and selected size to be imaged. It can evenconvey messages from the on-line processor.

:Setprint Plus

Make an affordable move to Computer-to-plate

Agfa offers the broadest line of film media in the industry, let-ting you choose the media that works best for your applica-tions. However, :Avanxis IV can also output :Setprint Plusplates, establishing an initial computer-to-plate workflow with-out the expense of a full plate-setting solution.

For many operations, :Setprint Plus plates and an Agfa image-setter serve as a flexible solution for outputting film and platesat equally high levels of quality — while gaining the productivi-ty advantages of direct-to-plate imaging.

A plate designed for convenient, high-quality 4-color printing

:Setprint Plus is designed for accurate short-run, 4-colourprinting. :Setprint Plus can image 175 line screen, and canprint up to 20,000 impressions — making it right for a widerrange of jobs in today’s shorter-run marketplace.

A :Setprint Plus configuration offers a low-risk, flexible way tobegin to benefit from streamlined computer-to-plate output, while putting your all-digital workflow in place.

Easily integrated into your workflow

You can image :Setprint Plus plates in any imagesetter using ared laser diode or Helium Neon laser source. You can processthem in almost any standard Rapid Access processor. With:Setprint Plus, no additional hardware investment is needed.
