These are the latest preliminary estimates. The new October pupil count and final assessed
values are not figured into these figures yet.
The two charts below show how Colorado has lost ground on per pupil spending from
2002-2003 to 2012-2013. The U.S. average Per Pupil Spending has increased $556 in that
time period. Colorado has decreased $703 and ranks 47th in per pupil spending change.
The average spending per pupil in the U.S. is $11,001. Colorado’s average per pupil spending
is $8,893 which ranks 40th. Since 2012-2013 Colorado has actually moved backwards in rank
among states.

SUMMARY OF ISSUE:
Wiggins School Board has partnered with Adolfson and Peterson as the General
Contractor for the school district.
Wiggins citizen committee members held a community meeting at the Wiggins
Fire Hall on September 28th. Members from HCM, A&P, George K. Baum, and
Inline Management were in attendance to answer any questions community
members had regrading Ballot Question 3W.
Wiggins citizens committee attended a luncheon at the Senior Center to inform
community members about the upcoming Bond.
Tabor Notice has been mailed out to all registered voters in the district.

The District received a $2,000 donation from the Huwa Family to be used for a reading curriculum
in the resource classroom and $6,992 in equipment from Cody Corsentino/Corsentino Sound for
the event center sound system project.
Also received was a $2,000 grant from the Best Buy Foundation for the Graphic Design Art Class.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the donations and grant.
