Descripciones
To describe people and things in Spanish we use adjectives
Adjectives are modifiers that MUST BE IN AGREEMENT WITH THE NOUN (i.e. number and gender) they are describing. Ex:
– La casa bonita / las casas bonitas.– La casa es bonita / las casas son bonitas
In Spanish, the adjective usually comes AFTER the noun it modifies…which is opposite of what we do in English
![Page 21: Agenda -Note-taking: Adjectives -Project: MI FAMILIA HW: Flashcards for Thursday. Project due Oct. 1 st. QUIZ ON TIME Sept. 26th](https://reader036.vdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022070417/56a188a31a28abe545956a39/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
Rules for adjectives
All adjectives need to agree in NUMBER and GENDER.
– La casA es bonitA Adjectives that en in E don’t have a gender but they
need to agree in NUMBER– El estudiante inteligentE– La chica inteligentE
If the adjective ends in a consonant, to make it plural add ES
– El niño veloZ Los niños velocES
