Formulate a Hypothesis: Predict a possible answer

to the problem or question.

Example: If soil temperature increases, then the plant will grow taller.

Variables • Independent

– Condition that you will change during the experiment.

• Dependent– Condition that will change as a result

of changes of the independent variable (observations).

Controlled VariablesConditions that will stay the same during the experiment. You control to reduce error.
