AGACC-II Scientific ObjectivesAdvanced exploitation of Ground-based

measurements for Atmospheric Chemistry and Climate applications – II

AGACC-II will further experimental studies of the atmosphere

using ground-based remote-sensing (Brewer, FTIR, MAXDOAS, sunphotometer) and aerosol in in-situ instruments

as well as supporting laboratory experiments and modeling studies

Status of WP2 at mid-term Vigouroux et al. 2012 paper on biomass burning VOC

(CO, HCN, C2H2, C2H6, CH3OH, HCOOH, HCOH) at St Denis – Reunion

CH3Cl and CH3OH preliminary data at Jungfraujoch Improved C2H6 analysis at Jungfraujoch with new pseudolines HCHO MAXDOAS data at Jungraujoch improved for

comparison with FTIR data Feasibility studies (PAN, acetone, CFC-substitutes) started….

Laboratory studies HCHO: FIR and MIR spectra recorded ongoing C2H6 3.3 µm region: limited information retrieved further

Improve algorithms for aerosol characterisation from ground-based spectral measurements from Brewer and MAXDOAS AOD, SSA, phase function, vertical profiles in lower troposphere
