AGA AOE Mission Statement
“The mission of the AGA Academy of Educators is to be the home for educators within the AGA. The
academy will be the pre-eminent forum to support and enhance teaching skills, mentorship, academic
promotion, innovation, funding, career development, assessment
skills, leadership, communication and scholarship. The academy will advocate for the education mission
both as an academic priority and as a career pathway and will recognize excellence in education.”
Goals of the AGA AOE
1. Recognize and foster educational excellence, innovation, and scholarship throughout the career continuum.
2. Provide resources for teaching, training educators, and leadership development.
3. Develop strategies to obtain funding to support careers in education, including institutional and external support.
4. Create a framework for documentation of educational excellence in support of promotion in an academic educator pathway.
5. Advocate for the education mission both as an academic priority and as a career pathway.
