Group/ In-Person Training

Traditional training where participants attend a training institution or facility and engage with an instructor in a particular field. As part of this formally registered group, the learner has the opportunity to exchange information and experiences that may require testing at the end to confirm an acceptable level of knowledge retention/ understanding. Resulting grades and/or certificates upon completion may also be involved (e.g., workshops, seminars, in-class training).

One-on-One Training Informal interactions/activities where a participant receives one-on-one knowledge transfer, either in-person, over the phone or provided electronically from an expert/trainer/professional.

On-site Training Training that occurs at a place of business and involves more than one participant (e.g. field demonstrations, field tours).

Peer-to-Peer Training Interactions/activities where participants learn from, and with, each other in both formal and informal ways.

Web based Training (including Webinars)

Training delivered via the internet where an instructor controls a virtual curriculum and interactions, or the learner sets their own learning pace. Participation is virtual and the training may be either live or pre-recorded. Participation is usually at the participant’s convenience, not necessarily a defined date and time, and may include testing at the end to confirm an acceptable level of knowledge retention/ understanding. Web-based training may also include testing, grades and/or certificates upon completion.

SECTION 4. PROPOSED BUDGET Projects will be cost shared between the applicant and the government at a 50:50 ratio up to a maximum of $25,000. Applicants can select as many focus areas as required on one application form to a total application of up to $25,000. Only one application per eligible applicant will be accepted. The maximum rebate for this activity will be based on applicant eligibility, the purchase of eligible items, documentation including invoices and proof of payment, date purchase was made and funding availability. Any purchases, which fall outside the list of eligible items, may result in a claim being denied. An eligible applicant is only able to apply for this activity one time. Please ensure that you have reviewed the information in the Guidebook prior to submitting this application and claim. SECTION 5. DECLARATION AND SIGNATURE I confirm that I have read and understood the objectives, principles and criteria set out in the terms and conditions of the CAP-Ag Action Manitoba Program, and understand the applicant must meet the following conditions in order to be eligible for funding: 1. The applicant must demonstrate to Manitoba Agriculture and Resource Development that it has or can acquire adequate human resources, experience and skills required to carry out its responsibilities. 2. The applicant agrees to comply with the terms and conditions of the CAP-Ag Action Manitoba Program. 3. The applicant agrees to provide financial documentation of all expenditures. 4. The applicant grants the Minister of Agriculture and Resource Development or its designate the right to conduct a compliance audit on the project described in this application. 5. The applicant agrees to provide appropriate recognition for the financial assistance of federal and provincial governments. 6. The applicant will make available to the Provincial Minister any communication materials developed under this program and agree that the Provincial Minister may use such materials for promotion purposes. 7. The applicant agrees that, unless authorized, costs incurred before March 1, 2020 or after January 31, 2021 are not eligible for reimbursement. 8. The applicant agrees that Canada and Manitoba will not be liable for any claims for damage from the recipient or third parties related to the activities carried out by the recipient or on his/her behalf. 9. The applicant is in compliance with federal, provincial and municipal requirements. 10. There are no conflict of interest situations with the applicant relative to the CAP-Ag Action Manitoba Program and Manitoba Agriculture and Resource Development. 11. This application has been signed below by the CEO/Chairman/President, owner(s) or a legally authorized representative who is duly authorized to accept the terms and conditions by clicking on the box indicating acceptance. If the required authority is not met or the applicant does not accept the terms and conditions, this application may not be submitted. I understand that the information contained in this application is being collected for the purpose of assessing and reviewing my eligibility for funding under the CAP-Ag Action Manitoba Program, and that such information will be used and disclosed for application assessment and review purposes, including verification of the information submitted as well as program review, statistical purposes and performance reporting. Financial, commercial, scientific or technical information provided in this application will be treated in accordance with federal legislation, including The Access to Information Act and The Privacy Act and similar provincial Acts including The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. I agree that the project, if approved, will recognize the CAP-Ag Action Manitoba Program, and the federal and provincial governments for their contribution and support. (a) a survey of program participants and program review, statistical purposes, Manitoba Premises ID and performance reporting; and

(b) public release by AAFC or Manitoba Agriculture and Resource Development of my name, the amount of funding received and the general nature of the project or activity undertaken by me for which funding is being made available.

The applicant consents to the information contained in this application including personal information) being disclosed to the Program Administrator.
