FADE IN:

EXT. FOREST NIGHT

Katipuneros were roaming around the forest. Some are guarding their respective bases and others are searching for any civil guards that they can kill, and then one of them heard the marching of the civil guards and will hastily hide in the forest. Eight civil guards will appear in the scene. They will stop marching and they will talk to each other.

CIVIL GUARD 1Hahanapin natin tong mga rebelde at babarilin isa isa. Walang matitirang buhay.

CIVIL GUARD 2Si Seore. Lahat mamatay, lalo na ang mga kaaway ng Kapitan Heneral.

One of the Katipuneros will signal to attack. After the signal, they will all emerge from their hiding places and attack the civil guards. They will have an exchange of gunshots until the guards will be out numbered. But the sound of the gunshots will attract more Civil guards and will arrive in the place and kill most of the Katipuneros. And thats when another wave of Katipuneros will arrive and will have an exchange of gunshots again. One Katipunero will shout.

KATIPUNERO(shout)Para sa Pilipinas!

The Katipuneros run towards the civil guards, bolos raised upward with revolvers on their side ready to attack.

BONIFACIO(shout)At kay Rizal!

The scene will display an exchange of gun fires and stabbing of bolos, dying rebels and civil guards, faces of uncertainty and defeat. All of the rebels died, except for Bonifacio. He was the last one rebel standing. He was holding a book on his left hand and a bolo stained with blood on the other hand as he stares at the outcome of the battle. Then laying down his bolo, Bonifacio grabbed a fallen gun near his feet but was shot by one of the surviving Civil Guard. Then the Civil Guard will approach the dead body of Bonifacio and will retrieve the book he was holding. Then, he will notice a pin on its bloody shirt. It was a compass and a square.

CIVIL GUARD 1(shout)Mason!

Then another group of soldiers will arrive. This time it was not a civil guard, nor a rebel. It is now a new group of Filipino soldiers led by Aguinaldo. They will shoot all the Civil Guard and will left none alive. Then one of the soldiers will wave the flag as the narrator speaks.

EXT. QUIRINO GRANDSTAND JUNE 12 - 8:00am

The grandstand will be filled with different people vendors, guards, citizens of the Philippines, and some foreigners - waiting for the Presidents much awaited speech.

VOICE (O.S)Independence Day - A very important day to the Filipinos after being colonized by the Spain for almost 330 years.

EXT. ZAMBOANGA CITY AFTERNOON (flashback)

Soldiers exchanges fires with the rebels. One of the soldiers will hide behind a wall and will retrieve an ornament from his pocket. It was a locket that contains a picture of his lovely wife and daughter.

VOICE (O.S)Many Filipinos sacrificed their lives just to gain our freedom we are longing for during the darkest days the Spaniards led to us.

The soldier will close the locket, kiss it and aim his gun to the rebels side. But a rebel was already standing behind him and aims a gun on his back. The soldier will stiffen and will slightly look behind him and will be shot by the rebel. The soldier will collapse to the ground and the locket stained with the soldiers blood falls out from its pocket.

VOICE (O.S)And now through their life and undying love for our country we are free at last, we have won our country back! But, who are these people that fought bravely for our countrys independence? Do we know their names?

INT. IN A MEETING ROOM WITH A TABLE OF THREE METERS LONG

A group of masons, whose wearing black suits with a Masonic aprons and Masonic rings are discussing something. Three main frames were focused. These were Aguinaldo, Bonifacio, and Rizal.

VOICE (O.S)Do we even know what kind of weapons they have used to end our sufferings, from the hands of our adversaries?

INT. IN A DUNGEON

A group of men wearing a dark ancient priests suit were talking to each other. One of them walk to a metal door, open it, look outside cautiously, and then close it. The closing of the door will create a bang noise long enough and then, blacked out.

VOICE (O.S.) (contd) No! We know nothing! We dont know what they have been through! We dont know how it feels like to wake up every day with a dread of never seeing your family again! No, we know nothing. All of the answers to our questions were written in our history! But not all the time history enlightens us! Not all the time, history is true! But something is certain, sometimes histories wants us to follow the trails to

Aguinaldo will get the pin on Bonifacios shirt and the book the civil guard took from Bonifacio. He will detach the cover of the book and throw it away in the forest. They will all leave behind the fallen bodies and the cover of the book being flipped up. It was written there, IL SECULARIS: The Rise of the Secret Society.

VOICE (O.S) --Deception.

Aguinaldo will arrive at the jail of Rizal. He left the book on Rizals table which became thin now. Also, it has a new cover. It looks like an unfinished novel containing chapter 1 and has only 10 pages, and was now entitled After Mass.

EXT. QUIRINO GRANDSTAND DAY JUNE 12, 2013

There will be a lot of people waiting below the grandstand. Different noises will be created murmurs and whistles. There will be cameramen and reporters from different TV and Radio stations practicing their live coverage.

BELOW THE GRANDSTAND

One of the reporters was holding a mike, reporting the happenings in the Quirino Grandstand. The camera was aimed to him.

REPORTERGood morning everyone. This is Jeff Cruz reporting live at the Quirino Grandstand. Today, we are celebrating the countrys 115th year of Philippines Independence Day.

REPORTER (O.S)This event is being sponsored, not just by the government, but also, by the Freemasonry who is now celebrating its Centennial year.

The cameraman focused its lens to the symbol of free masonry at the right portion of the stage. It was a v-ruler below a compass having a letter G at the middle. The cameraman signaled the reporter that the President was coming out onto the stage. Jeff glanced on his back and saw the President walking towards the center of the stage. People are now applauding as the President walks toward the microphone. Guards are now blocking the entrances to the grandstand.

IN THE GRANDSTAND

The President made its entrance to the stage in front of the crowd. And walks toward the center and stopped in front of the speech table. He tapped the microphone and flashes a bright smile to everyone.

PRESIDENTHappy Independence Day to all of us!

The President paused for a while.

PRESIDENT (contd)Una sa lahat, Nais kop o sanang pasalamatan ang Philippine Freemasonry

The President will look at the 32nd degree mason who is also the Vice President of the Philippines, seating at the right part of the stage. After hearing its name, the masons make a graceful nod.

PRESIDENT-- sa pagsponsor sa isa sa pinakaimportanteng kaganapan ngayong taon. At gusto ko na din samantalahin itong pagkakataon para batiin kayo ng Maligayang ika-isang daang taon.

BELOW THE GRANDSTAND

While the President speaks, one of the young girls on the crowd was texting. And suddenly, two guards noticed the girl and winked at each other then they approach the girl. One of the guards slid his hand on the girls waist. Kate was shocked. She turned back to the guards and removed its hand that possessively holds her waist.KATE is a college girl wearing a yellow organizational shirt, and Johns girlfriend. She has a long black hair and a petite body shape.

KATEAnong ginagawa mo?!

GUARD 1Nakapagsabi samin na nakitaan ka raw ng droga sa iyong bulsa.

The guard points his index finger to Kates pocket.

KATEHuh? Hindi ko po alam pinagsasabi ninyo. Kahit kalian po, hindi ako gumagamit niyan.

The guards didnt listen. They unceremoniously un-tacked her side pockets and saw nothing. The other guards tried to put his hand on the girls back pocket and snatch a sachet of white powder.

GUARD 2(shouting)Kung ganon, ano pala ito? Hindi droga?

KATE(shocked)Hindi akin iyan. Wala pa yan kanina sa bulsa ko! Maniwala kayo sakin.

Kate was now crying. Some people in the street were now looking at them. The two guards are still observing the sachet of drug.

GUARD 1(giggling)Ah! Samin pala ito, kung ganon. Guard 1 winked to Guard 2. They flashed a mischievous smile. They both turn to Kate and pretend to be angry.

GUARD 1Sumama ka sa amin.

Guard 1 will grasp Kates arms. It was tight that Kate can hardly move. Kate will try to jerk free form the guards hands but she cant.

KATE(Sobbing)Saan?

GUARD 2(Smiled)Aba syempre. sa lugar kung saan ka dapat parusahan.

Guard 2 will smile and put his hands on Kates waist, pushing her towards the direction of the van. Most of the people now were looking at them.

AT THE GRANDSTAND

The Presidents attention is now on Kate. He focused his eyes to them and was confused, but he still continued his speech.

PRESIDENT(fade)Kahit na tinamaan tayo ng pinakamalaking bagyo sa buong mundo na sinasabing gawa ng tao. Narito pa rin tayo, nakatayo, at inaalala ang mga sakripisyong -

BELOW THE GRANDSTAND

KATEHindi sakin yan. Please. Paniwalaan niyo ako. Kahit kalian di ko pa nasusubukang magdrugs. Kung gusto niyo, ipa-drug test niyo ako, ngayon na! Nagmamakaawa ako sa inyo. Alam ng Diyos ang totoo.

Guard 2 will abruptly stop. Even the Guard 1 is surprised on the sudden action of guard 2.

GUARD 2(Angered face)Kailan? Kailan ka niligtas ng pananampalataya mo sa kasalanan mo? Hindi ka ililigtas niyan! Kung gusto mong mabuhay ng matiwasay, mamulat ka sa katotohanan, wag kang mamuhay sa puro pantasya lamang.

Kate and Guard 1 will both look surprised on what guard 2 had said. Then the guards will continue to walk towards the van. Guard 1 handcuffed Kate. She shouts. People from the grand stand cant do anything but just watch them. Theyve approached the van and Kate was thrown inside. The 2 guards climbed inside and slid closed the door. Its not fully closed when suddenly a shoe fell on the ground. It was Kates shoe and was then followed by her belt, and then her half-torn org shirt, and lastly, an ID that belongs to one of the guards also falls to the ground. Then a man wearing a black coat passed by the van and noticed the clothes, shoes, belt and an ID on the ground. He picked up the ID. He studies it.

MARIKPekeng ID?

Then, he heard a scream from the van, pulled out his gun, open the sliding door of the van and shoot the two guards. He carefully carried Kate out of the van. She was now unconscious after being punch by Marik and leaves while carrying her. People just stared at them.

AT THE GRANDSTAND

The President continues to speak but suddenly interrupted by the sound of gunshots, then a man in a black coat appeared on the stage. Everything happens so fast, the man stab a syringe on the Presidents neck and the president loss his consciousness.

BELOW THE GRANDSTAND

The people now are in panic but Jeff pushed past the guards and went up the stage. Marik watch the guard, and they shoot Jeff from behind. Hes dead. Marik runs away as the guards carry the unconscious body of the President out of the stage.

INT. EMPTY ROOM DARK

Only Marik is in the room. He was lying in the floor. He was dead for a few minutes. MARIK EIBARRAMENDIA had amnesia, he forgot what happens before he lost consciousness, even his real name, he had forgotten. He thought that he was Mark, his brother, because of what people calls him. He really looks like his brother. He was a college student, wearing a green shirt. In front, BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU WEAR. IT BEARS A SYMBOL was written. At the back, ART SYMBOLOGIST was written. He was the boyfriend of Yumi.

RIZAL (O.S)Mark Eibarramendia!

Marik tries to stand up as he tried to recognize the voice but his body wont listen. He tried to speak and scream, but no one can hear him. A fire will rise from his feet like he was being tormented in the inferno.

RIZAL (O.S)Mark Eibarramendia!

Rizal will enter the room out of nowhere. His face is concealed by the darkness. He was wearing a rugged coat full of holes from gunshots, and was wearing a Masonic apron. He has a book in his hand.

RIZAL (O.S)Mark Eibarramendia.

Simoun and Crisostomo will enter the set. Their faces were also concealed in darkness. Simoun was holding a lamp while Crisostomo holds a knife.

RIZALNabuhay ka na puno ng kasinungalingan. At sa pagtanda mo, nakita mo ang mapait na katotohanan. Kailangan mo itong tanggapin sapagkat ang iyong karunungan ang magpapalaya sayo sa lahat ng kasinungalingang tumatakip sa katotohanan. Ang aklat na ito ay mapapasayo sa dulo ng iyong paglalakbay kung saan maaari mo itong gamitin sa ikauunlad ng bayan o sa pagkasira nito. Nasasaiyo kung pano mo ito gagamitin.

Marik was shocked upon seeing the long-dead man. And his face was full of confusion.

MARIKHindi ko maintindihan.

Rizal will throw the book on Mariks feet. Marik tried to pick it but Simoun walk towards him.

SIMOUNAng lamparang ito ay makikita mo sa kalagitnaan ng iyong paglalakbay kung saan tatanglawan nito ang kaisipan mo na sirain ang mga paniniwalang gawa ng kamangmangan ng mga relihiyon. Ang lampara ring ito ang magbibigay liwanag sa mga panlilinlang ng iyong kasaysayan.

Simoun will throw the lamp on Mariks feet. It exploded and burns the book together with Rizal.

MARIK(Shout)Wag!

The fire will grow larger and larger that it will torment Marik more. Hes in pain again. Marik tried to move but he cant. Crisostomo will approach him. As he approaches, he was cutting his right wrist, and then he is now smeared with blood.

CRISOSTOMO (contd)Wag kang magpapalinlang kung sino ako. Wag mong paniniwalaan ang mga Diyos ng bayan.

Marik will look at him. His face was still full of confusion.

CRISOSTOMOLilinlangin ka nila gamit ang kanilang kabaitan. At kapag nagpalinlang ka, hindi ka magtatagumpay sa lakbay mo.

SIMOUN(Burning and laughing)Nalinlang ka ni Crisostomo sa kanyang kabaitan.

Crisostomo will turn to him and will stab him on the chest. Rizal was in pain.

SIMOUNAt ang huling nobela ang gagabay sa iyo sa landas ng karunungan, hindi sa landas ng kasinungalingan.

Crisostomo will stab him, too. He will look at Marik, and will try to stab him. But Crisostomo disintegrate into ashes and the fire was gone. Crisostomo, Simoun, and Rizal were gone. A girl was shouting his name.

YUMIMark! Mark!

INT. INSIDE THE ROOM OF A HOSPITAL JUNE 15, 10:45AMMarik is lying in the hospital bed. His head was bandaged. Yumi is waking him up. The doctor and the nurse will enter the room. The doctor will check Mariks head and will remove his bandage. He will hand it over to the nurse.

DOCTOR(Hes speaking to Yumi)Its okay. Nananaginip lamang siya. Epekto ng gamut na ininjection sa kanya.

Marik was still holding his head. Disoriented.

MARIKNasaan ako?

Yumi will turn to him and sit beside him.

YUMISa ospital. Wala ka bang naaalala sa nangyari sayo dalawang gabi na ang nakakalipas?

MARIK (contd)(Confused)Dalawang gabi na ang nakakalipas?

Marik tries to recall, but he cannot remember anything.

MARIK Sandali. Sino ka ba?

Yumi was shocked and tears sprang from her eyes, she cant believe what she heard.

YUMI(desperate)Girlfriend mo, Mark. Best friends tayo simula -

The doctor interrupts Yumi by patting her shoulder. He will look at his nurse and the nurse will frown.

DOCTORIm sorry, but, the patient is currently suffering from a retrograde amnesia.

Marik was surprised to hear the term retrograde.

MARIKThe energy drink?

The doctor and the nurse burst into laughter.

NURSEHindi yung inumin. Its retrograde kung saan ang pasyente

The doctor will stare at the nurse. DOCTORIkaw ang doctor?

The nurse will be ashamed so, he stopped talking.

NURSESorry doc.

The doctor will return his glance to Marik and Yumi who are staring at them.

DOCTORWell, retrograde amnesia is a kind of amnesia that tends to erase your recent memories which results from any traumatic incident that happens to a person at sa kasong ito, maaapektuhan nito ang mga nangyari sa buhay mo kamakailan lang at sa lagay mo, nakaranas ka ng isang aksidente, kung saan nagsanhi ito ng pagkalimot mo sa mga nangyari sa buong buhay mo.

Marik is confused and starting to panic.

MARIKTraumatic incidents?

The doctor sighed. He closed his eyes and move more closely to Marik. He glanced to the nurse and the nurse nodded as a sign of agreement. The doctor answered him with a nod and glance back to Marik.

DOCTORNabaril ka. Dalawang araw na ang nakakalipas.

Marik and Yumi exclaimed at the same time, with the same phrase.

MARIK (duet)Nabaril?

YUMI (duet)Nabaril?

They look at each other surprised by the information and by having the same reaction at the same time.

DOCTOR(frowned)Yes.

Yumi stood up. Marik, the doctor and the nurse glanced at her. She was surprised after hearing it.

YUMI (contd)Doctor

Yumi will look at the nameplate on the doctors left breast pocket. She saw his name. Dr. Angelo del Castillo. She talks to the doctor as her voice starts to rise.

YUMI-- Angelo, sa pagkakaalam ko po ay nahulog lang siya sa hagdan ng Baluarte de Santa Barbara at tumama ang kanyang ulo sa lupa.

DOCTOR (contd)Tama ka na ang iyong -

The doctor extends his arms to Marik asking him what is his connection to her. Marik lowered his head and then yumi answered for him.

YUMIBoyfriend.

The doctor rolled his eyes and then continued.

DOCTOR -- ay nahulog sa hagdan ng Baluarte.

EXT. AT THE BALUARTE (flashback)

The doctor was standing at Media Naranja a balcony-like flat form in Fort Santiago where you can see below the Pasig River. Marik was running when the doctor heard a gunshot. He was shocked and immediately turned to the place where he heard a gunshot. He saw Marik kneel down in front of a man wearing a black coat, then Marik fell to the ground.

DOCTOR (O.S)Ngunit habang iniinspeksyon namin ang kanyang ulo, natagpuan namin ang isang bala na dumaplis sa kanyang utak. Ginawa naming lahat ng makakaya naming at natanggal naming ang bala.

INT. IN THE OPERATING ROOM (flashback)

Marik was laid in a hospital bed. Doctors were operating his head. The doctor used a tong to put the bullet in a medical pan.

Marik was still confused but he just stares down on the side of his table.

MARIKSino naman kaya ang gagawa nito sa akin?

YUMIHindi ko din alam, Mark.

MARIKSandali. Pano mo nga pala nalaman na nandito ako?

YUMIMay nagtext sa akin nung araw na yun at sinasabing nahulog ka daw mula sa Baluarte, hindi na ako nag-dalawang isip pa kung totoo iyon o hindi, kaya pumunta na ako. Pero pagkarating ko sa Baluarte, hindi kita nakita roon aalis na sana ako nang muling magtext yung taong yun na nasa ospital ka raw. Kaya pinuntahan kita agad. Hindi ko na inisip o tinanong kung sino ang taong iyon pagkarating ko sa ospital hindi na siya nag-text pa.

The doctor noticed that Marik was still puzzled by the things that happened to him. So the doctor explained everything he knew.

DOCTORActually, may bumuhat sa yong isang pulis at nakita ako. Pinakiusapan niya akong buhayin ka.

Marik and Yumi looked at each other. Yumi smiled at him.

MARIKKung ganon. Magkano po ang bayarin ko sa ospital? Alam kong mahal to. At

Marik tried to snatch his wallet on his pocket. But theres no wallet.

MARIK(frowned)Mukhang wala akong dalang pera.

Yumi, the doctor, and the nurse looked at him. The doctor smiled at Marik.

DOCTORAyos lang. dahil wala ka nang dapat pang babayaran.

INT. IN THE HALLWAY OF THE HOSPITAL (flashback)A man wearing a black suit gave all the money to the doctor as a payment for all the expenses of marik and the man wearing a black suit leaves the hospital.

DOCTOR (O.S) (contd)May nagbayad na ng mga gastusin mo sa ospital.

Marik and Yumi look at each other. The doctor turned his back to Marik and attempts to leave.

DOCTORMagpahinga ka na muna sa ngayon, at pagkatapos, eh, maaari ka ng umalis.

Marik force himself to sit down. Yumi assist him. He was about to reject Yumis help but he remembered she was his girlfriend, so he holds her hand and sit. He stopped the doctor.

MARIKSandali lang, sino siya? Gusto ko siyang pasalamatan.

The doctor stopped and nod to the nurse, allowing him to leave first.

DOCTORIm sorry. Ayaw niyang ipaalam sayo kung sino siya. Pero pwede kong ipaabot sa kanya ang pasasalamat mo.

Yumi interrupted.

YUMIThanks doc.

Yumi hugged Marik. Marik was confused but he felt Yumis love now so he tightly hugged her back.

DOCTORYoure welcome.

The doctor leaves the room. Yumi assist Marik to stand up.

YUMIMark, gusto mo bang pumunta ng Manila Cathedral? Magpapasalamat tayo sa Diyos sa pagbigay sayo ng pangalawang buhay.

MARIK(shocked)No!

Upon hearing Mariks response, Yumi was shocked.

YUMIHuh?

MARIKAh! Wala, wala. Tara na.

Marik started to walk; Yumi tried to assist him but marik didnt let her and he just walk past her, Yumi was perplexed and startled by Mariks actions, Then she just followed her boyfriend and left the hospital.

INT. INSIDE A ROOM IN THE FORT SANTIAGO DUNGEON JUNE 12 3:00PMThe room was brightened by the candle lights and lamps. It was dim. There was also a stair that leads to the top of the dungeon. Sunlight passes through it and was focused on the floor with a pentagram. Kate was hanged near the table. The President was hanged near a metal door. Marik was seating in a chair. He was painting a spiral sun and 8 flames were surrounding the spirals in Kates stomach. She was unconscious and her hand was chained on the ceiling. Then draw a Masonic symbol in the navel part.

MAN (O.S)Marik!

Marik looked up in the hole of the dungeon and saw a man, but his face was hidden because he was against the light. It looks like a living shadow. Marik stood up and walk towards the man. The man was the Vice President. He was also the 32nd degree mason. The man pats his hand in Mariks head and he closed his eyes.

MANSino ako sa tingin mo?

MARIKIkaw ang anak ng Great Architect of the Universe.

MANAt sino ka sa tingin mo?

MARIKAng iyong Messenger.

MANMahusay.

The man handled a paper to Marik, and left him. Marik opened the paper and read the content.

MARIK (contd)Your path

Kate gained her consciousness. She was waked up by Mariks voice. She tried to move but she was chained.

MARIK (O.S)-- starts at the coffin en cross.

KATEPakawalan mo ko! Tulong!

MARIK (contd)Manahimik ka!

Marik gets the gun on his waist and aims it to Kate.

MARIKKung ayaw mong mamatay!

PRESIDENT (O.S)Wag mo siyang sasaktan!

The President was now awake. Marik turned to the President. Kate also glanced at the chained man.

PRESIDENTInosente siya.

MARIKInosente?

He aimed the gun to the President.

PRESIDENTEstudyante lang siya. Kung gusto mo, ako na lang patayin mo.

MARIKDarating din tayo jan.

Marik turn away to the President, approach the table and grab the plaster on the table.

MARIK (contd)Pero siya

Marik points to Kate. Kate was shocked.

MARIKKailangan ko pa siya.

Marik plastered the mouth of Kate, and punch her stomach. She loses consciousness.

PRESIDENTWag!

Marik turned his back to the President and looked at the paper again.

MARIKOras na!

Marik went up and leave the dungeon, leaving an unconscious girl, and a shouting President.

PRESIDENTTulong! Tulungan niyo kami!

EXT. PLAZA DE ROMA JUNE 15 11:05AM

The park was located in Intramuros in front of the Manila Cathedral and beside Palacio del Gobernador. The plaza was green full of trees, people were roaming around. Some lovers were sitting in a bench, and the statue of King Charles was sculpted in the middle of the Plaza facing the Manila Cathedral.

Marik and Yumi arrived at the Plaza de Roma. Yumi was holding Mariks hands.

YUMINandito na tayo.

Marik looked at the beautiful, but one of the oldest Cathedrals in Manila.

MARIKSa -

YUMIPlaza de Roma.

Marik nodded. Yumi saw the Cathedral and points at it.

YUMIAyun na oh!

Marik looked at the Cathedral.

MARIKAng alin?

YUMIThe Manila Cathedral isa sa pinakalumang simbahan sa Pilipinas at isa sa dalawang natitirang simbahan sa Intramuros mula sa orihinal na pitong simbahan.

Marik was silenced after hearing it. Yumi noticed him.

YUMIOkay ka lang ba?

MARIKOo. Okay lang. May naalala lang ako tungkol sa simbahan.

YUMI(excited)Talaga?

MARIKNatatandaan ko may isang bata. Nakikipaglaro ito sa pari.

A child was playing with a priest. They are running. The priest was chasing the child. Suddenly the priest stopped and asked the child to stop. The child followed. He was pointing on the crucifix of Jesus in the altar. The priest tried to explain but the child never listens. He continued to run. The priest makes a sign of the cross.

Marik looked at the church and again, it bothered him. He focused his eyes on the door and saw the All Seeing Eye symbol.

Marik and John climb down off the jeep. They stood outside the Manila City Hall.The look up at the clock tower.

Mark read the poem and looked up at the building.

John looked around. He saw people looking at him, and others ignore him. They have different businesses. Barkers call for passengers to ride jeepneys. Vendors asked for buyers to buy their products. Students talk to each other loudly. But he didnt find any sign of a cross.

INT. MANILA CITY HALL JUNE 15, 11:47AM

Marik and John enter the Manila City Hall. They looked around and will see a painting in the wall. It was the Manila City Hall, burning. Mark looked at the paper again and saw a triangle drawing on the word coffin and cross. He surveyed the place again, but he can only see government workers and individuals roaming around the City Hall.

MARIK (contd)This is it. It all makes sense.

Marik points at the paper.

MARIKTatsulok. Isang pagan symbol ng apoy. At ditto din sa lugar na to mahahanap natin ang unang bomba.

The two of them surveyed the place, but theyve saw nothing. They climbed up the stair, nothing. When theyve reached the fifth floor, they saw paintings. Marik looked at the paper again. John pointed on the wall. It says there that the painting is gone. A janitor comes out of a room. John saw him and approached leaving Marik.

JOHNExcuse me. Nasaan ang painting dito?

John points to the wall. Marik will look at the empty wall.

JANITORPasensya na po sir pero, nanakaw na po ang painting jan. matagal na.

JOHN(confused)Nanakaw?

Marik interrupted.

MARIKPero alam niyo po ba kung nasaan yung painting?

JANITORSorry po sir pero

The Manila Mayor approached them.

The mayor glanced at Marik and John.

The Mayor paused and then smiled.

The mayor walks towards the lost painting.

MAYORAng nawawalang painting ay ang imahe ng itim na Nazareno na pasan pasan ng mga Augustinian na mga pari noong panahon ng espanyol. Ito ay ang paglipat ng Nazareno mula sa Intramuros patungong Quiapo.

Marik was confused. He was interested why it was called with that name.

Marik and John run down the City Hall. Theyve searched for a jeep that goes to Quiapo, and climbed the jeep. The jeep started to move. The mayor look at the trail where the Marik and John run.

The mayor taps the shoulder of the janitor.

MAYORYoure doing a great job.

JANITORHindi.

The mayor was shocked.MAYORExcuse me?

The janitor snatches the gun from his waist and shoots the Mayor. He puts the gun in the hand of the mayor and removed his gloves. He walked down calmly.

Yumi was sitting in her bed. She looked at her picture with Mark. They are in the Manila Cathedral. She returned the picture frame to the desk beside her bed and lie on the bed. She looked at the cross hanged in the wall above her head.

YUMIBakit ito nangyari sa kanya? Nakalimutan niya lahat ng kanyang alaala, kahit ako. Ipinakilala niya ako sayo, pero anong ginawa mo sa kanya? Pinahihirapan mo siya. Napakadamot mo namang Diyos.

Masons were all busy. Some are writing, some are talking to each other. Two masons were standing near a pillar. On the window, they can see police cars waiting outside.

Another mason went out of a room and approached the two masons. It was the humanities professor of AJ.

Marik will walk inside the church. He will saw a priest walking towards him.

PRIESTHello, may maitutulong ba ako sayo?

Marik grasp at the arms of the priest and dragged him to the confessionary.

MARIKMangungumpisal lamang po ako padre.

INT. AT THE CONFESSIONARY (flashback)

MARIKPadre. Patawarin niyo po ako sapagkat akoy nagkasala

PRIEST(tensed)Kelan ang huli mong kumpisal?

MARIKPadre. Eto nap o ang una at ang huli.

PRIEST(tensed)Kung ganon, anu ano ang iyong mga kasalanan?

MARIKWawasakin ko ang simbahang katoliko at lahat ng naniniwala sa Diyos niyo. At isa pa. papatay ako ng tao.

The priest was stunned upon hearing Mariks confession.

PRIESTHindi pa huli ang lahat. Pwede ka pang magbago. manampalataya ka lamang sa Diyos at ililigtas ka niya.

Marik shoots the priest and run towards a specific chapel. He went to the altar and planted the bomb. He got out of the church.

Marik and John run inside the underpass. It was an underground bazaar. There are plenty of people below. Marik and John struggle to get out of the place.

Mark and John arrived outside the Quiapo church.

MARIKNandito na tayo. Ngayon. Asan ang bomba?

The two of them surveyed the place. There are a lot of people. They look inside and the mass was on going. A street child approach them and pinned Mariks shirt a pendant of Nazarene and asked for donation. Marik removed the pin and give it to the child. He didnt give donation. The child was persuading him but instead, drop the pin at the ground and move away from the child.

JOHNNanjan lang yan sa loob ng simbahan.

John saw the painting near the underpass.

JOHNMark, halika!

Marik returned and looked at the painting.

JOHN (contd)Tingnan mo. ito ang painting ng itim na Nazareno. Pero bakit napakaraming tao?

Marik looked closely at the painting and saw the Augustinian priests carrying the chariot.

MARIKHindi. This is edited. Tingnan mo ang mga taong nakahawak sa rebulto; mga pari, mga paring Agustino. Dinagdagan nila ito ng napakaraming tao para hindi mahalata.

JOHN(stunned)The stolen painting in Manila City Hall.

They look at each other surprisingly. Suddenly, a girl screamed Mariks name. It was AJ running towards them.

Marik looked at AJ and asked John.

AJ stopped from running and breathe rapidly. Marik recognized her.

John already recognized AJ, and upon hearing Marik, he was surprised that Marik does not recognize the girl he met awhile ago at the Fort Santiago.

He extend his arms to John, asking his name. John shook the professors hand.

John recalled the reason why he was in the mission. All he thought was to stop the bomb.

Marik turned to the church and look at the priest. The priest looks familiar to him.

Marik was surprised. He looked at the professor.

Mark looked at the statue of a saint outside. Its crane is pointing at the center of the altar, where a low relief above the altar was an image of a two-headed phoenix, that points underneath the altar. John didnt see, instead, he saw an angel.

PROFESSOR(joking)Anghel? John, nasa harap mo na siya.

John(confused)Huh?

John looked at AJ. AJ looked at him, too.

MARIKSeryoso ako. Nanjan lang sa may altar ang bomba.

Marik points at the altar. He run inside the church aiming to approach the altar. John, AJ, and Professor Jan was surprised.

The three, followed Marik and run after him.

Two guards entered and catch Marik.

The priest gestured to the altar server. The altar server went to the altar and shook his hand to the priest. It means that theres no bomb. Marik saw the obelisk.

John looked at Marik. He was staring at the obelisk outside the church. People went outside and looked at them.

MARIKThe Freedom Obelisk.

All of them looked at the red obelisk.

JOHNHindi maaari.

AJYes it is. An obelisk.

The professor walk towards them.

PROFESSORAn Egyptian symbol adopted by the demonists.

They look at the professor. Marik was still staring at the girl statue at the top of the obelisk. It was standing on a circle, holding a torch.

MARIK (contd)Tama siya. Symbol ito ng pagiging matibay, para sa mga Illuminati.

Marik saw a white thick cloth. Marik walk towards the obelisk. The three of them followed him.

Marik looked at the Basilica.

They were all stunned on what they saw. A time-bomb that only has 54 seconds to explode. Citizens saw the bomb and they shouted.

The woman run away. All people spread shouting that theres a bomb. Guards went to the place and tried to call some police. The bomb shows that there is only 42 seconds left and they need to cut the right wire. Mark crouched and observed the bomb. John was astonished.

JOHNPano mo nalaman ang tungkol sa IL Secularis Mark?

MARIK(looked up. Also confused.)Hindi ko alam.

AJ observed something. Marik was regaining his memory.

AJMark, sa tuwing mapupuntahan natin ang isang landmark, mukhang natatandaan mo ang mga bagay na nangyari na.

Marik was pissed off. He cant understand what is happening. He looked at AJ.

AJ was stunned. John holds her shoulder and brought her to the professor. John returned to Marik.

MARIK(shouting)Wala akong pakialam! Sumasakit lang ang ulo ko kapag pinaaalala niyo sakin ang tungkol sa amnesia ko.

Marik snatched a knife on one guards pocket near him and tried to cut the blue wire. All of them close their ears. John embraced AJ and turned their back from Marik expecting that the bomb will explode. Marik changed his decision and attempted to cut the red wire. The priest went out of the church and observe. Many people are now running and escaping. Suddenly, as Marik was about to cut the red wire, one runner fell to him and accidentally cut the blue wire. The bomb stopped at 00:00:08.

Theres a pause for a few seconds. Marik closed his eyes and dropped the knife. AJ escaped from the hug of John.

JOHNWere alive?

AJYes. We are!

Everyone all applauded. AJ give John a tight hug. John did the same thing. AJ realized something and she detached.

AJ(blushed)Im sorry.

JOHN(smiled)Hindi. Okay lang.

The professor tapped Marik at the shoulder.

PROFESSORmagaling, Mark.

Marik stood up and fixed his clothes.

MARIKSimula lang to. Hindi ditto nagtatapos ang quest natin Madami pang bomba ang nakatanim sa mga landmarks.

The priest came closer to Marik. Marik looked at him with familiarity. He put his palm on Mariks shoulder.

PRIESTHumihingi ako ng dispensa sa ginawa sayo sa loob ng bahay ng diyos.

MARIKOkay lang padre, naiintindihan ko sapagkat ginawa ng tao ang diyos dahil sila ay mapamahiin.

Marik stormed out of the place. All of them looked at him. The professor grab the hands of the father and bless.

PROFESSORSorry po father, Siya po kasi ay athe

AJSecular po father. Tara na!

PROFESSOR(hesitated)May pupuntahan lang ako. Magkita na lang tayo AJ sa Intranmuros.

John, heard what the professor said to AJ, then they left the priest, and the people who are looking at them with bewilderment. The professor run towards his car and went away. The priest remembered something. A child was playing with him. Then, the child left him.

PRIESTAnak, patawad kung hiniwalay kita sa kapatid mo.

Marik, John, and AJ were ridding a jeep. The jeep was full of passengers. Marik snatched at the paper on his pocket.

MARIK (contd)The Path starts at the coffin en cross.

JOHN-- coffin then cross. The City Hall and the Quiapo Church

MARIKIlluminating churches; Full of pagan symbols.

AJThe Fire Obelisk. The triangle - Pagan symbol for fire. The same with the obelisk.

Marik looked at AJ surprisingly. Marik points to the paper.

MARIKYeah. Pero sa tingin ko, bawat linyang kasunod ng unang linya ay may kaugnayan sa misyon natin.

Marik was still reading the poem.

Marik glares at John. Passengers were looking at them.

The driver made a hard stop and AJ fall to Johns shoulder. AJ immediately sit straight.

AJ, Marik, and John climbed down of the jeep. A nun threw a rosary to Marik.

Marik lowered his head and suddenly remembered something.

INT. SAN LORENZO PARISH ALBAY (flashback)

A child was standing near the gates of the church. The priest called him.

PRIESTMarik!

The child Marik looked at the priest and saw a glass was thrown towards him. He thought that the priest asked him to catch it, so he did catch it. Suddenly, his hands feel the hotness of the object, and he let go of the glass and it broke on the floor. The priest laughed and left him.

JOHNMark, okay ka lang?

MARIKOo. may naalaala lang ako noong elementary pa lang ako.

AJBumabalik na alaala mo. Ano yung naalala mo?

MARIKAng kura sa bayan namin. May isang sacristan daw noon. At may binato ang kura sa kanya na mababasaging lalagyan ng kandila. Mainit daw ito kaya nahulog ito sa kamay ng bata. Kung paano ibato sakin ng madre ang rosaryo, ganon ibinato ng pari ang lalagyan sa bata.

MARIKIyon din ang paring nagbibigay sermon sa mga tao na hindi totoo ang Diyos.

INT. SAN LORENZO PARISH (flashback)

During the homily, a child was listening behind the priest.

PRIESTAlam niyo ba kung bakit kayo malapit sa Diyos? Nanggaling ang Diyos sa maling paniniwala ng mga tao at ang totoo ay wala naman itong naiitulong sa inyo. Sa tuwing humihingi kayo ng tulong sa kanya, tinatalikuran niyo lang ang masakit na katotohanan.

EXT. PLAZA DE ROMA

JOHNNapakagaling na pari, ah.

John looked at his watch, and was shocked.

AJ run towards the cathedral, theyve passed the Plaza de Roma and everyone was looking at them.

Marik and John were shocked. AJ misinterpreted. It was three minutes before the church explodes.

MARIK & JOHNAJ. Wag!

Marik and John both followed AJ. Suddenly, when they were standing 15meters away from the entrance of the church, it exploded. They were blown away. They were all blasted by the explosion. Marik looked at the top of the cathedral as the papal seal was burning. Marik points at it.

INT. YUMIS HOUSE

Yumi saw the explosion on TV. She was in shocked.

INT. ROOM INSIDE THE FAR EASTEN UNIVERSITY

Yanie was attending class. She saw a black smoke coming from the North West part of Quiapo church at the window. The professor was still discussing as his students point at the smoke.

YANIENasa panganib si Mark.

Yanie ran outside the room and met with Johan and Karen who were waiting at the corridor.

YANIE(tensed)Johan, may sumabog banda sa Intramuros.

KARENAno? Andun sina Mark, John, at AJ ah.

YANIE(puzzled)AJ?

KARENOo. Tinext niya ako kanina na papunta daw sila sa Manila Cathedral.

JOHANIsang babae? Sa isang deadly mission?

YANIEMasyadong mapanganib to para sa kanya

Kian passed them. Yanie, Karen, and Johan, looked at her surprisingly.

KIANPero malaki ang maitutulong niya.

JOHANKian?

KIANSiya ang editor ng libr ni Mark. Nabasa ko na iyon at lahat na nga ng nangyayari ngayon ay nakasulat sa Trail to Deception.

Everyone was surprised.

YANIESandali, nasaan si Yumi?

KIANIniwan ko na siya dahil gusto niya raw mapag-isa. Nagkulong siya sa kwarto

They were about to go, when Johan remembered something.

EXT. MANILA CATHEDRAL JUNE 15, 1:15PM

There are a lot of blasted walls and stones. People are shouting and the church was slowly collapsing. Marik, was down. John hugged AJ as they ducked.

MARIK (contd)The Papal Symbol. Cross keys under the Tiara. X and Circle. Means deadly. Pagan Symbol

Marik looked at AJ and John.

MARIK(shouts)Okay lang kayo?

John was crouching on the ground protecting AJ from the blasted walls.

JOHN (contd)Were good!

John faced AJ.

JOHNOkay ka lang?

AJ(smiled)Oo. Thanks.

Marik found a wooden part of the Basilicas door. It was an all seeing eye sculpted at the wood. JANVA COELI was sculpted. He holds the wooden piece.

MARIKIn heavens gate, youll be rewarded with a key.

Marik looked at the wooden piece.

Marik looked at John.

MARIKDito lang kayo, hahanapin ko ang lokasyon ng bomba kung saan nakalagay ang clue ng susunod na landmark.

Marik stood up and run towards the church.

INT. RESTAURANT JUNE 15

Ash and his new boyfriend, Sam was sitting in a dining table. They are looking each other.

SAMAsh, bat ang ganda mo?

ASH(surprised)Huh? Hindi ah!

SAMSabi ko, bat ang ganda mo?

ASHOo nga, narinig ko. Such a joker!

SAM(surprised)Whoah! Joker?

ASH(smiled)Im just telling the truth.

The waiter arrived to give their bill.

WAITERAnything else maam, sir?

Sam put a one thousand peso bill at the waiters pocket and smiled. The waiter bowed his head and leave. Ash didnt notice it as she was looking at the food. Suddenly, Sams phone rang. It was a text message. He looked at it and he frowned. Sam stood up.

SAMMy God.

ASHBakit? Anong problema?

SAMBaby, I need to go. May emergency kasi.

Ash also stood up and grasped at Sams arms.

ASH(concerned)Ano nangyari?

SAMIll tell you later. Pero kelangan ko na talagang umalis.

Sam kissed Ash at the cheeks.

Sam rushed and left Ash alone. Ash looked at Sams chair and she found a paper picked it up. Ash was stunned after reading it then she immediately ran out of the restaurant dialing Yanies number.

INT. INSIDE THE BLASTED MANILA CATHEDRAL JUNE 15, 1:18PM

Marik arrived inside the ruined church. Debris was still falling, same thing with the destroyed walls and ceiling. John and AJ run after Marik, but they cant catch up to him.

JOHNMark!

AJMark?

Suddenly, a big block of stone falls to Marik, but a priest pushed him away and was crushed by the fallen ceiling. His head was still visible. John and AJ felt the crushing of the whole cathedral. AJ grasp the arms of John then he hugged her.

PRIESTAnak, naaalala mo ba ako?

Marik remembered something, a voice that came from someone he knew.

MARIKPamilyar ang boses mo.

Marik run towards the priest to help him. He tried to lift the stone to free the priest. The priest tried to move but he cant. Marik saw the priests clothes stained with blood. The priest was shot.

PRIESTOo anak. Bawat masamang adhikain, ay may kabutihan pa rin. At bawat kasalanan, ay may kaugnay na kaparusahan.

MARIKAnong ibig niyong sabihin?

Another gigantic part of the dome hits the priest. He died. John and AJ were still following Mark but also, were separated.

JOHNMark! AJ!

AJJohn?

Suddenly, AJ saw a huge amount of destroyed wall collapsing to her. She shouted but she was pushed away by John. Then another wave of collapsing happened. Almost the entire cathedral collapsed to the two of them when professor came in and push them away.

PROFESSOR(catching his breath)Get out! Hes not Ma

The ceiling collapsed to him and he died. AJ cried.

AJProfessor Galang!

John grasped for her hand and dragged her out of the Basilica. They saw Mark going to the chapel of Heavens Gate. Marik search for the key but he found nothing.

MARIKAsan ang susi? Asan ang susi?

Marik saw the ceiling collapsing to him. He ran away. Marik arrived at the altar when the whole church collapsed.

JOHNMark!

AJHindi!

John fell to his knees.

JOHNPatay na siya.

AJ embraced John. Suddenly, the ground shakes and it cracks. The whole underground of the Cathedral was a canal. AJ almost fell but John grabbed her uniform.

AJTulong! John!

AJ got his hand and John carried AJ on her waist. She was saved.

JOHNI got you.

Marik struggles in the crypt of the Cathedral. Its already dark there. And he cant breathe freely.

MARIKAsan ang symbol? Asan ang symbol?

Mark tried to move more but he couldnt instead, he stomped to a lamp and it lights. Marik picked it up.

Marik aimed the light to a wall and saw something.

Mark removed the dust on the tomb and he accidentally scratched some paper. It was a drawing.

Marik looked at the lamp. He remembered whats in his dream. It was Rizal, talking to him. Simoun approached him and showed the lamp.

MARIKSimouns lamp na magdadala sakin sa Path of Enlightenment. Hindi sa Trail to Deception. Eto ang sinbai niya sakin sa panaginip. Kung ganon, nasaan ang Path of Enlightenment at ang Trail to Deception?

Marik aims the light to the whole room but he failed to see any path. The light now starts to flicker.

MARIKMukhang eto na ang libingan ko.

Marik heard the scream of John voice was shouting his name.

JOHNMark!

AJMark!

Marik shouted back.

MARIKJohn! AJ! Nandito ako! Sa crypt! Andito ako!

But the two cannot hear him.

JOHNMukhang patay na nga talaga siya.

AJ shook her head.

AJHindi. Kailangan niyang malaman ang tungkol sa kanyang libro. Hindi niya to alam.

JOHNAno? Anong ibig mong sabihin?

AJ recalled something.

AJBase sa kanyang libro, may tinago ang IL Secularis sa pangalawang landmark. Papel ito na magtuturo sa kanya sa susunod na landmark.

Marik looked at the drawing.

AJ (O.S)At isa pa, merong isang hidden door sa second landmark na nakatago sa loob ng crypt na magdadala sa kanya maaaring sa ikaliligtas niya, o sa ikamamatay niya.

Marik looked at the painting behind the altar. He tried to touch it and find for a door.

AJ(saddened)Kaya nga.

JOHNPero sandali. Ang mga nangyayari ngayong araw, nasa kanyang libro lang?

AJExactly. Halika na. hanapin natin siya. Alam kong buhay pa rin siya.

JOHNPano ang pangatlong landmark? Pano si Kate? Pano ang Professor? Kelangan na natin tong hanapin ngayon. Binuwis niya ang buhay niya para sa atin!

Marik stopped searching after hearing that the professor was dead. He was shocked.

MARIKNandito siya?

AJPano si Yumi? Sa pagkakaalam ko, hiniram mo lang si Mark sa kanya. At ngayon, iiwan mo na lang siya dito?

John shook his head and agreed.

JOHNOkay. Hanapin na natin siya.

Marik tried to aim the light in the painting but the light turns off. He tried to push every part of the painting and find something wooden. He punched it and it was destroyed. Its a small dungeon with candle lights that lead somewhere. He walked into the path until he saw a light. When he gets into the light, he was already outside the small hole of the Palacio del Gobernador.

EXT. PALACIO DEL GOBERNADOR, JUNE 15, 2:23PM

Marik run towards the ruined Cathedral, and call for John and AJ. There are plenty of people and police cars and fire trucks outside.

MARIKJohn! AJ!

The two was outside the cathedral and AJ embraces Marik.

AJThank God youre alive.

MARIKI save my life. Not him.

Marik gets the paper in his pocket and looked at the drawing.

JOHNPero ano ang tinutukoy ng tula ng ancient fortress? At sinong St. James? The apostle? Bakit niya tatapusin an gating paglalakbay?
