Divine focus on development• Genesis 1:26-29• V26 Vision of development, to cover SEA, AIR, EARTH• V27 Agent of development MAN (male & female). • V28 Mission of development: fruitful, multiply, replenish,

subdue, and the finality is DOMINION (Mastery).• V29 Supply system to the agent of development. Eat for

strength to THINK (ideas, plan, concept) and to WORK, utilizing energy to materialize the thinking pattern. Proverbs 10:17.

• The ideal is Genesis 2:9-16 FREE. • We can do proper development in the Will of God, and

the Supply is FREE. God is the one Who employs and package all the BENEFITS.

2 Development of the Super Powers• The idea started with a descendant of Ham.• A SUPER POWER: is a nation appointed and equipped by

God Himself to pursue His AGENDA in establishing or restoring ORDER among the nations.

• Jeremiah 18: 7-9 God plucks, pulls down, destroys or builds and plants a nation.

• Pluck: Uproot, going deep to the foundations, remove.• Pull down: bring down, cause a fall/collapse.• Destroy: to abolish, terminate, end a system/reign. • Build: raise up, grow, develop, prosper.• Plant: establish strong foundations/be unshakable.• All of them went through some of these stages!!!

Names of the Continents and explanations• Most of the names have a Greek, Latin as well as

Phoenician origins.• Africa: Afri+ca land of the Afri, from Latin. Afri people

came from Tyrus. Afer is singular, AFRO.• America: from Amerigo Vespucci, an Italian navigator

and a cartographer , his trips to the Continent were in 1499 and 1502.

• Asia: Asu in Akkadian, to go out, to rise. Asu in Greek a derivative of Phoenician, East, The land of sunrise

• Australia/Oceania: Australis in Latin South or Southern, Ocean

• 1. Spiritual Development : from Polytheism, animism, ancestral worship, superstition, refuge to the Patriarchs, to Christianity.

• 2. Political and Administrative Development: from sovereignty, slavery, colonialism, independence, dictatorship, democracy.

• 3. Social Development: unemployment, poverty, polygamy, diseases, great human values.

• 4. Economic Development: international debt, maladministration, lack of accountability.

• 5. Academic development: Pyramids of Egypt/Sudan, Library of Alexandria, Rocks of Zimbabwe, the gold in Mapungubwe. Brain and skills drainage. Initiation school for boys/girls.

• 6. Military development: in the past, there used to be strong armies well organized and disciplined. Today some countries have heavy weaponry, but with dictatorship, the whole purpose of the Army is hijacked to serve individuals interests.

Part 3 Promises and Purpose• 1. Promises of the Blessing• Individual level: Gen1:26-28, to build self confidence, self

esteem. Our ATTITUDE should be of FAITH that we are the right people that the Continent has for development.

• Family level: Gen 12:3 Acts 16:31. Attacks on families: fatherlessness, divorces, tribal wars, but the promise is here, the purpose of the family is to BUILD countries.

• National level: Gen 18:18, Gen 22:18, nations have the same Biblical PROMISE to prosper.

• Continental level: Gen 9:1, 18, Psalms 68:31 (Leadership and Worship), Isaiah 19: 1-25, speaks of the Salvation of Africa. PROTECTION – PRESERVATION – PROMOTION - PROSPERITY

• Most Pharaohs respected Joseph and protected the Israelites Ex 1:8

• 77 people came to start the nation of Israel in Africa Gen 46:26-27

Conclusion• Matt. 28:18-20 reconciles with Gen 1:26-28• Development is God idea• The plan of God starts with an individual (Divine Vision

or Divine Plan received). • The Plan/Vision of God is then taken to a family, then

a community, a nation, a Continent, and the World.• Development can only work if God is in the equation.• Development can only work with godly people Eccl

10:17. Therefore, we should be involved in politics.

Proposing some Solutions for African development• Discovering of our purpose and gifts.• Discover our Identity, BE ourselves. Learn from others but BE US.• Be PASSIONATE about our purpose, Identity and gifts.• Be COURAGEOUS enough to stand for our Identity, our purpose,

and our conviction.• Break away from the Mentality of Third World Countries by setting

own standard of development based on Biblical principles.• God is the Only one Who know the POTENTIAL of Africans, so we

have to believe the Report of the Lord.
