When I listen in private to marketing professional in Maghreb & Africa, I hear Data-Driven, Programmatic, Real-Time Bidding is too early, too sophisticated, too complex for the situation in the market. I hear Catch-up innovativion, I do not hear Frontier Innovation. Some of you are already in the future, few are benefiting
But the advantage of this region and the talents are that they will catch-up faster and not make the mistake we seen in Europe or US on the right frugal use of technology in marketing. Social Media is Mobile & Vice-Versa. Social Media is only one thing, Sharing, Sharing is a signal, Signal is a data. And when it comes to marketers, Social Media has a much wider potential, beyond the fanciness of social apps Take the topic seirously & master it & own it to use it, do not leave to the giant guys Facebook, Google, Twitter. Do not be Google or one-big-guy dependent.Africa is a mobile-first continent, a digital continent, Most of sharing signals are digital and come in vast quantity.5

Data-driven with a purpose- This is frugal innovation : if you only invest in collecting without purpose, it is catch-up innovation, Many brands/publishers in Western Economies have lost 3years between between 2010-2015. Do not miss the technical due diligence.
