You will be greeted at Banjul airport, just 6 hours from the UK, before returning to the Little Baobablodge in Abene.
After an evening of food, chat and music around the fire, you will be free to explore the village and relaxbefore commencing a five day walking and boat trek through the mangrove swamps, staying in villages
and learning about the traditional way of life.
After reaching the tropical landscapes of southern Casamance, we will return to Abene by road,stopping en route to visit the provincial capital of Ziguinchor.

The remaining days will be spent at the Little Baobab where we can sample the local music scene,learn to drum and dance, meet the marabout, view the sacred tree, visit artisans or just relax on thebeach.

Where: Abene, Senegal, one hour from Banjul airport, the Gambia
When: Current availability from November 2013 till June 2014
Proposed itinerary:
Day one: arrive, cold drinks in the tree top terrace, fresh fish supper
Day two: explore the village or relax on the beach or in the gardens, music performance
Day three: commence trek, walking along beach to Kafountine, dug out boat to mangroves, night in the village of Kouba Day four: canoeing, fishing and sampling of palm wine and its production
Day five: boat trip to Karabane, enjoy the beach and view dolphins
Day six: trek across island to Djembering, explore this mystical village
Day seven: beach walk to Cap Skirring, brunch at French restaurant, short walking tour of Ziguinchor, return Abene
Day eight: relax in our gardens or on the beach, visit craft market, the big tree, music lessons or meet the marabout
Day nine: as above
Day ten: leisurely breakfast or an early start to walk with monkeys or crocodiles before returning to the airport
Visits can be for shorter or longer periods, as well as personalised to your desires for example, a focus upon music, photography,
birdlife, trekking or you can simply relax.
