......Sustainable development through Optimization of energy sources

Vicat Group strongly promotes waste co-processing solutions in order to reduce the

use of fossil fuels and thereby reduce Fuel and Raw Material Cost

The recovery of energy and materials for fuel alternatives in cement plants is part of

a sustainable development orientation aims is to reduce:

extractions of natural resources

greenhouse gas emissions

fuel fossil consumption,

quantities of waste incinerated or placed in landfills.

Since the 1970s, cement plants have been co-processing several types of waste:

Used oils, non-chlorinated solvents, tires, residual waste from compacted cars, bone meal,

ground timber, SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) and sludge from wastewater treatment plants

Several projects are undertaken in Turkey, India, Senegal and Switzerland, allowing

the Group to increase its use of these fuels.
