What is AFCEA?
Established in 1946, AFCEA is a non-profit organization serving its members by providing a
forum for the ethical exchange of information, among 35,000 members, 120 Chapters worldwide
AFCEA is dedicated to increasing knowledge through
exploration of issues relevant to information technology, communications and electronics for the
defense, homeland security and intelligence communities.
The Alaska Chapter was formed in 1951 and serves
the needs of the arctic community. 2
Mission and Vision
Our Mission To promote the ethical exchange of information and
facilitate knowledge sharing and education in the areas of information technology, communications
and electronics.
Our Vision To be a leading IT, communications and electronics
association for professionals in government, industry and academia in south central Alaska.

2012-2013 Goals
Provide relevant & interesting programs in luncheon format at BP Energy Center (Oct, Nov, Jan-Apr)
Build fully functional scholarships & grants program Issue STEM Grants to deserving teachers ($4K) Build Scholarship Program
Conduct at least one AFCEA-sponsored annual recurring event (JBER IT Expo, May 15, 2013)
Expand corporate sponsorship program Maintain budget/expense transparency Expand electronic presence (web, social, Google) Conduct one social with UAA w/guest speakers
