“A little Taste” from the President

Recipe: Cinnamon Apples

Needed Ingredients:4 Granny Smith Apples½ cup Brown Sugar1 ½ teaspoons ground Cinnamon½ teaspoon ground nutmeg2 Tablespoons water1 Tablespoon butter(no substitutions)

Instructions:1.Peel/core apples2.Toss together 1st 4 ingredients3. Pour apples into a saucepan with butter

and water.4. Cook 8-10 mins5. Serve as is or with vanilla ice cream

Epsilon Chi Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International

Meeting Minutes

Day/Date: Saturday – October 13, 2018Place: Stilwell Memorial Teachers

ResidenceTime: 10:00 a.m.President Ronda Brewer called the meeting to order.Cheryl McDuff read the Collect.Roll Call was taken with a sign in sheet.Terry Josey and Ann Sandifer furnished the refreshments.

Ronda Brewer welcomed members in attendance and reported on members not in attendance. She introduced Charlotte Carpenter who is coming to us from another chapter. We are so happy to have another friend to get to know.

The minutes from our last meeting were approved and seconded.

Treasurer Report was given by Kathy Fabian:$745.92 in Grant-In-Aid$3131.54 for Scholarships$513.96 for our Available Funds This was all explained and discussed while approving the new budget for the 2018-2019 years. Cheryl McDuff made the motion and Marcheta Langford seconded the approval of the treasurer's report as read. Praise goes to Kathy for a job well done.

President's Report was given by Ronda who informed us about the State Convention that she attended, and the possibility of our dues changing to begin at a different time of the year. Also, student teachers may join now for $20.

Old and New Business were discussed next which included news about our Area 8 Workshop, State and National Conventions, Adopt-A-Teacher, Newsletter, and ways to use our Scholarship or Grant-In-Aid money. In the discussion, a motion was made by Bonnie Luft to give $300 to our Adopt-A-Teacher. Jessica Chapman seconded.

Announcement was made about the upcoming monthly meeting on November 10, 2018 at Stilwell. The topic will be “Building Bridges Through American Sign Language.”

The DKG song was played on the piano by June Shipper and was sung by all with joined hands.
