endsofthearea.Twoorthreepassesoneachendaresufficient.Thenapplymaterialbackandforthasshown.Usetheendareasforturningaround,shuttingoffthespreaderasyouentertheendareasandturningthespreaderonagainasyourleavetheendareasforyournextpass.Seefigure25.

HOw TO uSE YOuR SPIKER/SPREADER
1. Refertotheinstructionlabelonthematerialpackageandto the instructiondecalonyourspreader tohelpdeterminetheproperspreadersettingandapplicationrate.AlsoseetheSettingChartonthispageforageneralrangeofsettingsforcommonlyusedmaterials.
2. Determinetheapproximatesquarefootageoftheareatobecoveredandestimatetheamountoffertilizerorseedrequired.
3. Movethespreadertotheareawhereapplicationistobegin.
4. Loosentheplasticwingnutandmoveittothedesiredsetting.Retightenthenut.Seefigure24.
5. Makingsuretheflowcontrolleverisinthe"OFF"position,fillthehopper,breakingupanylumps.
6. Lowertheaeratorspikestotheoperatingposition.7. Start thespreader inmotionand thenmove theflow
controllevertothe"ON"position(againsttheplasticwingnut)asyoutravelacrossyourlawn.Therecommendedtowingspeedis3m.p.h.
8. Donotmakesharpturnswithspikesintheground.9. Raiseaeratorspikestotransportpositionwhencrossing
overconcreteorotherhardsurfaces.10.Donotaerateifthegroundisextremelyhardordry.If
groundistoodry,sprinkleorwaterforonetotwohourspriortouse.

2. Dterminerlasuperficieapproximativedelazonecouvriretestimerlaquantitdefertilisantoudesemencencessaire.
3. Amener la rpandeuse dans la zone o lapplicationcommencera.
4. Desserrer lcrou oreilles en plastique et lamener aurglagesouhait.Serrerlcrounouveau.Voirlafigure24.
5. Ensassurantque le levierdecommandededbitest lapositiondarrt(OFF),remplirlatrmieendfonanttouslesmorceaux.
6. Abaisser les crampons arateurs la positionoprationnelle.
7. Mettrelarpandeuseenmouvement,puisamenerlelevierde commande de dbit la position demarche (ON )(contre lcrou oreilles en plastique) en avanant sur lapelouse.Lavitessederemorquagerecommandeest5km/h(3milles/hr).
8. Ne pas faire de virage serr avec les crampons dans laterre.
9. Soulever lescramponsarateurs lapositionde transportpour traverser des surfaces en bton ou autres surfacesdures.
