Aviator BulletinsThe latest aviation industry hiring news and more.

With pure flow to American Airlines, the interview with PSA is last interview you’ll ever have to do. PSA is also throwing in an additional $5000 for every new hire after January 1, 2016. PSA just accepted aircraft #96 and will have a fleet of 150 by the end of 2017. Upgrade time is less than 2 years.

As part of our mission to educate, engage and empower future aviators, ExpressJet partnered with Boldmethod on a series of videos and articles. The first two features in the series have been released: First Flight of the Day, which highlights all the actions that go into getting a flight off the ground, and ATP CTP, which focuses on the Airline Transport Pilot Certification Training Program (ATP CTP). In the ATP CTP feature, future pilots find the answers to questions regarding the ATP CTP course instruction, get an in-depth look at ExpressJet’s training program – the only part 121 carrier to offer the training in-house – and tag along as a pilot trainee completes the flight simulation portion of the course. These short films were captured by Boldmethod to digitally narrate the regional airline experience. Our multi-phase partnership with Boldmethod builds upon our existing

Ameriflight has the unique opportunity for low-time pilots to hire into the First Officer position on the Embraer EMB-120 Brasilia. Pilots with time as low as 500 hours are hired into a large, complex, turbine airplane and can start their professional flying career with the largest feeder freight airline in the world. First Officers are paid competitively at $31,000 per year.

Captain positions are open across the country, with compensation starting at $44,000 per year in the PA-31 Chieftain and Beech 99, including benefits like CASS, healthcare, vision, dental, and 401(k) with company match. You’ll also have an opportunity to take advantage of our preferential hiring program with Allegiant Airlines. This means you will hone your skills as a captain at Ameriflight, and have the opportunity later to move onto a major air carrier without years serving as a First Officer at a regional airline.

Ameriflight Continues to Hire Captains and First Officers

    Envoy’s Future Fleet Arrived

Envoy recently took delivery of the first 4 Embraer 175 aircraft from the current 40 firm orders and the remaining aircraft will be delivered at a rate of approximately 2 per month. After conformity checks

and FAA inspections, revenue service will begin on February 11, 2016 with operations out of the DFW hub. In addition to the 40 firm orders, Envoy has options for 90 more of the brand new, state-of-the-art jets configured as a two-class cabin with 76 seats total.

United recently announced that it has reached an Agreement in Principle with the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) for a contract extension covering the airline’s more than 12,000 pilots more than a year ahead of the amendable date of the current contract. The agreement is subject to a ratification process which includes final documentation, review, and consideration by the ALPA Master Executive Council.

“The fact that we were able to reach this Agreement in Principle in fewer than 30 days is a direct result of the positive, collaborative relationship between ALPA leadership and United,” said Executive Vice President Human Resources and Labor Relations Mike Bonds. “We appreciate the hard work of the company and union negotiating teams in helping us reach an Agreement in Principle that will benefit pilots and United.”

United has joint collective bargaining agreements covering the majority of its represented employees and recently announced that it will open contract negotiations early for the airline’s ramp service and passenger service agents, storekeepers, load planners, maintenance and fleet technical instructors, and other groups represented by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. The airline is also engaged in mediated negotiations with the Association of Flight Attendants and recently announced an

agreement with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters to put a proposed joint collective bargaining agreement out for ratification by the company’s technicians and related employees.

Set in the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, the “Forever West” state of Wyoming is home to Great Lakes Airlines. The company, head-quartered in Cheyenne, is just a short drive (or flight) to our main hub in Denver, CO. It can be defined in one word: community. While we continue to adapt, and have the distinction of being recognized as a well-respected corporation, we try not to lose sight of the fact that it is our employees that are responsible for the Company’s success. Adaptive to say the least, Great Lakes provides prospective airline pilots with a unique opportunity. Since the Federal ruling on increasing pilot hours, Great Lakes has restruc-tured its company to provide a path for pilots entering the industry. By reconfiguring some of their aircraft, they are able to utilize FAR 135 hiring minimums in an FAR 121 operation. This provides low time pilots a theoretical “foot in the door” to build valuable turbine experience operating within a 121 environment. They will gain the flight time required for the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) or Restricted-ATP (R-ATP) certification and will then have the ability to start building the required time to upgrade to a 121 Captain.
