Read about how you can “Give up a Gift” this holiday season and donate the $ that gift would have cost to F-to-F… so we can purchase gifts for kids in need. What’s different about this toy drive is your donated funds are used to buy gifts for

impoverished moms and dads to give to their kids on the holiday they celebrate, making them the “givers”! Double Giving!

Choose the toy/gift you’re going to give up.

Go shopping!! And take a photo of yourself with the gift you’re giving up. You might need to visit a local store to do so...but it’s worth it! MOMS AND DADS… We want to help teach your kids

how good it feels to give!

Upload your pic on our website or facebook page and share your story and how your family “Shared their Bounty!”

JANUARY

Pajama Drive Share the love on Valentine’s Day! Send comfy new pajamas with a snuggly soft blanket and help a child living in poverty feel special and secure.

“As a mom, I love the idea that we can give a cozy, cared-for feeling to a child in need. I know my own girls always loved the way a brand-new pair of pj’s made them feel.”- Pam

MARCH

Sponsor a Child with One Book a MonthFeed a hungry mind! Link up witha “book-hungry” child living in poverty by sending one new book and a letter every month. Do it with your family and get your kids in on the action!

“I love this program because it does so many things at the same time! It encourages children to read…to write… but most importantly, for kids living in poverty, who don’t often receive new things, a new book each month is simply magical. “- Mairead

APRIL

Collect Vegetable Seed Packets for a Family in Need!Host a vegetable packet seed drive and replenish a garden. It’s easy! Send much needed vegetable seeds and help a family struggling with poverty to grow their own food.

“We’ve all heard that old Chinese proverb, “Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” By helping a family struggling with hunger become self-sustaining, we’re helping them to help themselves.” - Nancy

MAY

Host a Book Drive Party! Clean out your children’s book shelves and Share Your Bounty!Help those with less be “givers” too! Host a book drive and help provide a unique opportunity for some of our nation’s most underprivileged children to “share their bounty”. A group of children living in poverty will read your donated books to younger children and then share with them that the books are theirs to take home.

“Those of us who give of ourselves know how good it feels to share with those in need. Through this compassionate giving activity, we hope to provide children in poverty -- who rarely have the opportunity to give -- with that VERY SAME empower-ing experience.” - Pam

FEBRUARY

Host a “Giving” Birthday PartyStart a tradition of generosity on your child’s very special day. Throw a birthday “giving party” and include the gift of giving as part of your child’s celebration.

“As mothers working at Family-to-Family, we see such deprivation and poverty in the communities we serve… and sadly, children are the primary victims. So we thought, what better way to help our own children celebrate their birthdays than to have them help other, poorer children to celebrate theirs?” - Nancy

JUNE

Collect Gently Used Children’s Party Clothes for Kids in Need.Got party clothes? Recycle and re-purpose by sharing your bounty with little ones with “less.” A truly empowering gift for those parents who have so little and a super “Princess or Prince for a day” treat for their kids.

“My kids’ party clothes never seem to wear out – if I’m lucky they wear them twice before outgrowing them. So it makes perfect sense to pass them on to someone else, and if it’s to someone who can’t afford them, that’s even better. - Mairead

Make a Birthday in a BoxHelp your child experience empathy and compassion as they make a“birthday celebration in a box” for a child in need. A concrete, hands-ongiving project for kids eager to make a difference! Cake mix, icing, candles, goody bags and your family’s kindness, all wrapped up in a box!

“I believe that when you provide a child with a concrete way of giving to others – the physical act of wrapping a present, making a birthday card, filling a box for another child – it immediately and powerfully increases their ability to feel empathy for others.” -Pam

NOVEMBER

Holiday Gift Giving By Kids, for KidsA national toy drive for some of our country’s poorest children. Encourage empathy and compassion by asking your child to give up one special gift she asked for this holiday season.

“Our belief is that when you provide children with a hands-on opportunity to give to others, empathy becomes more than just an idea; it becomes a behavior -- an action. And for kids, “actions speak louder than words.” – Nancy

OCTOBER

Stuff a Shirt for the Homeless!Make a difference! Stuff a t-shirt or gym bag with soap, shampoo, toothbrush and more… and help the homeless in your town. A hands-on giving project to do with family and friends.

“We love this because it’s so hands-on and direct – getting soap, toothpaste, and shampoo to a person with next to nothing, at a vulnerable time in their lives just feels like a really good thing. - Al

JULY

Sponsor a FamilyMake your giving personal. Through your local food pantry, reach out to an American family struggling to put food on the table. Share your bounty by providing groceries for 7 dinner-type meals in a truly one-to-one way.

“The effect of reaching out to one particular family -- of not just providing them with monthly groceries, but also of sending letters or an occasional box of clothes -- is HUGE… because it lets that family know there’s someone outside of their limited world who cares about them and wants to help.”- Nancy

AUGUST

A Gently Used Doll Drive for Childrenin NeedHelp your kids and their friends hosta gently used doll drive. Clean them up...dress them up...and pass them on to littleones in need. Help teach your child what it means to give as they donate one of their own “like new” dolls to a child in need. It’s a quick, easy and fun way for kids to make a difference!

“ We want our children to learn to automatically think of others when they have something special to give; this seemed like the perfect opportunity to embed the idea of “giving” into the fabric of their lives. - Pam

DECEMBER

Host a Clothing Swap Host a “30 x 30” Closet for Good Kids(or Adult) Clothing Swap! Clean out your closets and re-wardrobe your kids, or yourself! Gather and invite 30 selected swappers (friends, neighbors, co-workers) and ask them each to bring items to swap. A $30 donation to F-to-F is their ticket to the Swap!!

“This giving project is one of my favorites because everybody wins. It’s a way to gather your friendstogether for a fun social event, choose a bag of “new” clothes to take home, and at the same time make a difference to families in need.” - Pam
