Aeline’s Wreath
Materials 100-‐120 yards of Cascade Yarns Eco Duo of any Heavy Worsted/Aran weight yarn. A few yards of waste yarn Set of 4.5mm needles Cable Needle Stitch Markers (optional) 5.5mm crochet hook Yarn Needle Abbreviations C10f: Slip 5 stitches onto cable needle and hold in front of work. Knit the next five stitches, and then knit the 5 stitches off the cable needle. C10b: Slip 5 stitches onto cable needle and hold in back of work. Knit next five stitches, and then knit the 5 stitches off the cable needle.
Provisional Cast-On Using crochet hook and waste yarn, chain 30 stitches. Pull yarn through last loop gently and tie a knot in the end so it can be easily recognized later. Using 4.5mm knitting needles, pick up and knit 21 stitches through the loops on the back of the crochet stitches. Set-Up After casting on 21 stitches using the provisional cast-‐on method work these two set up rows. Set-‐up Row 1: K3, K15, K3 Set-‐up Row 2: K3, P15, K3 Cable Braid Pattern Row 1: K3, C10f, K5, K3 Row 2: K3, P15, K3 Row 3: K3, K15, K3 Row 4: K3, P15, K3 Row 5: K3, K5, C10b, K3 Row 6: K3, P15, K3 Row 7: K3, K15, K3 Row 8: K3, P15, K3 Repeat rows 1-‐8 of Cable Braid pattern, until headband measures desired length. In the last repeat of the pattern, end on row six. Finishing Untie and pull out the waste yarn, at the same time, slip the now live knit loops onto 4.5mm knitting needle. Holding both wrong sides and ends together, Kitchener Stitch the headband closed.
