AEGEE was founded in 1985 in Paris during a conference entitled EGEE that aimed at overcoming the ongoing “Eurosclerosis”

non-profit organization, not linked to any political party or religion

all activities are based on the voluntary work of its members

one of the biggest interdisciplinary students’ associations in Europe

• more than 10000 members

• 242 locals (Antennae)

• 42 European countries

• 70000 members since 1985

• to strive for creating an open and tolerant society, today and tomorrow

• to foster democracy, human rights, cross-border co-operation, student mobility and a European dimension in education

• to promote a borderless Europe without prejudices

Our Structure AEGEE does NOT recognize any national level or national administration

AEGEE organizational structure is based on:

• LOCAL LEVEL where members from AEGEE branches (the so-called Antennae) directly implement AEGEE’s aims according to the needs of their local community

• EUROPEAN LEVEL giving the common frame and direction for all local activities and providing a platform for international co-operation in multi-cultural teams
