2019 Summit Insights
• “Thinking and dreaming about TBM!”• Cloud is not a technology play – it is a people/process play• ”…not new – but I’ve been too busy to do those things with my employees…it was a good kick in the butt!”• Local security consortium – we don’t have enough resources on our own…let’s pool them in Atlanta• Assets thwart agility• Innovation; focusing on culture and relationship with the business• Don’t talk about how you want their (BOD) support – but rather their partnership• “…create moments of connectedness for remote workers”• BUSINESS ISN’T HEALTHY IF IT IS STARVING• Organizational change management is so much more work and requires intentionality• Stop talking about security and scaring people. Talk about value creation and risk management.• IT PETTING ZOO!• ”Twitter exercise for BOD outcomes”• Fail fast…but not loudly.• Shadow IT in IT??

2018 Summit Insights
1. No As__ole Rule2. Hope is a strategy!3. Agile is not Anarchy4. Stop doing it “to us” and start doing it ”for us”5. On a journey to trust with the business6. All technical decisions by architect7. Boards will be looking for “TBM certified CIO’s”8. Empathy for the business
9. “Script Kiddie” – (better google this from home!)10.High intellect and creative problem solving11.Not ”fail fast” rather “learn fast”12.Johari window = shrinking “unknown” to build trust13.We will never be as slow as we are today14.Focus on ”price” not ”cost”15.“Compliant” does not equal “secure”
1. Consider adding a specific “security” track to program2. Consider bringing SME’s in public cloud, security, collaboration, organizational development, and product line

2017 Summit Insights
1. Security is THE challenge and driving greatest exposure for the CIO to the BOD2. Digital transformation is not only about changing the products, it is about changing how the products are delivered3. Spend/cost visibility is pre-requisite for business enablement/transformation4. Technology IS the business5. Cloud is performance solution not (just?) cost reduction solution6. Businesses should not be free to ignore ROI of technology investment7. Control of solutions must be pushed out into the business8. Operations are evolving to meet transformation requirements - new and different techniques required9. Talent Remains Key Concern of the CIO10.Other:
• IT is not building it's solutions for automated consumer - still building for physical consumer• Solutions must consider the implications of providing common service levels across widely distributed geographies• "Cost management" became a referendum on AWS and cloud strategies - which are really IaaS strategies.

2016 Summit Insights
1. We are "here" now - cloud is part of our life from this point forward.2. Talent needs are transforming - the skills we need in the future will be different.3. Be smart about what skills are internalized vs. outsourced. Leverage smart partnership where possible and build long-
term career paths when needed.4. Shifting role of IT - the past was about controls. The future is about enabling. "Get it built rather than build it."5. "Just do something" - the world is moving so regardless of what path you choose - take it. "Use any means available –
but just get it done"6. "I haven't been trained on this" is a non-starter. Training can no longer be the barrier - either for IT or for the
consumers of IT.7. IT is integral to the business - ALL IT projects are business projects and visa versa.8. Migration from "monolithic" to "federated"9. Show back and cost transparency (cost per user per app?)10. Need new governance models.

2015 Summit Insights
1. Am I a Disruptor or Disruptee?2. Recruiting the right talent for tomorrow is No.1
– “My best today may not be my best people tomorrow”3. Hyperscalers such as Microsoft, Google, AWS are becoming network service providers – this will change the market4. Assets thwart Agility5. The Capex vs Opex dilemma6. Build a strategy to the Cloud and from the Cloud7. Architect the cloud for redundancy8. Read your SaaS contracts - Track SaaS subscriptions and storage fee overages9. Reality is a Hybrid Cloud – What is the right balance?10. Technology transformation is accelerating - you need an Insider Community
