SISTEMA SCOTLAND: BIG NOISE TORRY

Based on the internationally celebrated Venezuelan El Sistema programme, our vision is to transform lives with music. We deliver our work through the creation of Big Noise programmes within communities, and we currently run two programmes in Raploch, Stirling and Govanhill, Glasgow. We are excited to be launching our third Big Noise centre in Torry, Aberdeen and this is a unique opportunity to join the programme to lead, manage and deliver Big Noise Torry.TEAM LEADER MUSICIAN (36,360 - 39,390 per annum plus relocation package of up to 7,500)

We are looking for an inspirational and visionary musician and leader to establish the Big Noise programme in Torry. You will ideally be a string player but we may consider exceptional applications from non-string players. The following must be demonstrable both on your application form and during the selection process:

Educated to degree level or equivalent People management experience and leading teams Professional standard of playing on your instrument and knowledge of all orchestral instruments Excellent knowledge of beginner level teaching techniques on string instruments Sound knowledge of variety of music teaching methodologies Working with children in a music education and/or community/music context Delivering instrumental lessons, including to young children and beginners, in individual and small and large group settings Ability to motivate and inspire all learners, regardless of ability Commitment and understanding of the social benefits of music and the Big Noise programme
