Advent Service – Preparation for Jesus!

The season of Advent is our season to prepare for Jesus, and one of the best ways to prepare is to

share His love with others. During this Advent and Christmas season, there are many who really need

to be reminded that they are loved, and we can reach out to some in our very own community.

At Virtua Rehabilitation Center (62 Richmond Avenue, Lumberton, NJ 08048), there are patients

that could use some Christmas cheer. The Mini Vinnies will be collecting handmade Christmas and

holiday cards, paper stockings, and sun catchers for the patients. Our goal is to have enough for at

least 40 patients, but how wonderful would it be if we could provide enough for all – 130 patients!

Please consider making a craft and a card, so that they can be given together. We will have a box on

the Parish House porch to collect all cards and crafts on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, December 1, 2, 8

and 9 from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. We will bring all items collected to Virtua Rehab Center on Dec. 15.

Here are the instructions/examples of the bright and cheery items we are collecting:

- Christmas or holiday cards – please address to “Dear Friend,” and sign only with students’

first names! Including a short, hand written note would be wonderful – consider:

o “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!”

o “Thinking of you!”

o “Hope you have a wonderful Holiday!”

o “Hope this note brings you a smile!”

o “Sending love and hugs!”
