OverviewOverviewCommonBond provides on-site services that truly meet residents where they live. Programs and services oered at each site depend on the resident population and their needs. Services focus on using strength-based, evidence-based, and proactive practices. Our core Advantage Services are tailored to youth, adults, seniors, and people with disabilities.

YOUTH SERVICES

Goal is to engage youth in quality, consistent, and intentional programs as a stepping stone to success by partnering with parents, schools, and community resources.

Services are designed to improve school performance by providing homework assistance through our “Study Buddies” program, homework centers, and tutoring.

Recreational activities for teens and younger children are available through after school programming, summer activities, and Camp Fire MN.

ADULT SUPPORT SERVICES

A range of services is available to help our adult residents achieve self-sufciency, gain nancial literacy, secure and maintain employment, and advance their computer skills.

For our new American residents, we provide English language learning and U.S. citizenship classes.

Residents are also provided with supportive counseling and crisis intervention to help households address issues that may threaten their housing stability. This has a positive impact on the nancial performance of the property.

SERVICES FOR SENIORS & PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

Residents have the option of participating in a variety of activities including: health and wellness activities, workshops for chronic disease self-management and exercise programs, fall prevention activities, foot care and blood pressure screenings/clinics.

CommonBond provides information and referral, risk assessment, supportive counseling, and crisis intervention to help address issues that may threaten the independent living status of seniors and residents with disabilities.

JOHN’S STORY

CommonBond’s Advantage Services helped prevent John and other residents like him from being evicted which, in turn, reduces CommonBond’s property operating costs by more than $356 dollars per unit/per year.

(Enterprise Community Partners study on positive impact of resident services on property nancial performance, April 2007)

Properties with resident services nancially outperformed properties without resident services by 17%. (Enterprise Community Partners study on positive impact of resident services on property nancial performance, April 2007)

“John” was a young man facing multiple significant life challenges before CommonBond Communities’ Advantage Services came into his life. Young, alone, and struggling with the effects of Multiple Sclerosis, John had many obstacles but few resources. First, John needed a safe and stable place to call home, which CommonBond Communities provided. Next, our support services stepped in and helped John secure employment and find better healthcare.

Today, John is a successful independent adult who is a role model to his children and a caregiver for his mother, preventing her from having to seek long-term institutional care.
