With an enrollment of 10,000 students annually,Kutztown University is home for attendees from
more than 20 states and nations. However,finding a home for these students can be
challenging. Finding a truly comfortable place tolive can be a serious struggle. Owner, Gregory
Sarangoulis is seeking to change that withAdvantage Point Student Apartments. Plans forthree five-story buildings, are in the works andSarangoulis hopes to start site work in spring
2014 with a 2015 fall opening. The complex willhave 337 units with a potential 1,348 tenants in
1, 2, 3 or 4-person apartment layouts.“There’s a need for new state-of-the-art
apartments in Kutztown,” Sarangoulis explains.
These new apartments will help the universitywith its enrollment plan and give students the
housing amenities that are being offered at othertop universities throughout the country.
Advantage Point Student Apartments will go farbeyond standard, providing students with a
two-story, 17,000 sq. ft clubhouse with aresort-style swimming pool and hot tub to match.There will be several outdoor fire pits with grillingareas and the clubhouse will feature a completefitness center with yoga and spin classes, freetanning, meeting rooms and study rooms. Theclubhouse will also have a media center with a
massive 180” screen TV that will serve as a hostfor movie nights and sporting events including
College Gameday and NFL Sunday Ticket.
The apartments will come fully furnished with a50-inch flat screen TV, granite countertops,
dishwasher, washer and dryer in unit, high-speedinternet including upgraded cable package andmore. Plus, paying bills is made easy with one
all-inclusive monthly payment that includes all ofthe services and amenities mentioned above.
Local fundraising events will also be a major part ofthe Advantage Point outlook involving tenants.
Sarangoulis, states that he is a big believer of theyounger generation getting in- volved in local
fundraising charity events.
“We’re really trying to get the students tocommunicate and get involved with other students, to
socialize,” Sarangoulis says. “We do lots offundraising events, including blood drives, dinners for
the homeless, sponsor 5K walks, Women in Crisisevents and donations to the Red Cross to mention afew. We like to get the students involved from that
standpoint.” Greg Sarangoulis also owns complexesat Bloomsburg University, Lion’s Gate Apartments,and 525 Student Apartments in Reading, serving
Alvernia, Albright, Penn State Berks Campus, as wellas RACC students.
When asked about what makes the Advantage PointStudent Apartments stand out, Saran-
goulis’ answer is simple, “location, location, locationand amenities galore. It’s literally on campus, but off
campus. That’s the Advantage Point.”
Sarangoulis notes that current interactions with theUniversity are very positive, promising that the two will
be great neighbors, even utilizing the same securityoperations. Sarangoulis feels that the addition ofAdvantage Point Student Apartments will help the
college with its future enrollment growth and will givestudents a place to look forward to living after their
freshman year. He also emphasizes that theapartments aim to give students the amenities theyhave become accustomed to and will help KU with
student retention.
Advantage Point began another relationship, that withHaydenfilms Institute, when the Haydenfilms Agency
worked on promotional videos for Lion’s GateApartments and 525 Student Apartments. Now, the
two organizations are working together on otherevents, like the PSA Festival Showcase, proving thata community built upon organizations that cooperate
and work together can produce great things.
“Hayden [Craddolph, HFI Founder and ExecutiveDirector] is an alumni of Kutztown University,”
Sarangoulis says. “The University has acknowledgedHayden as an inspiration moving forward in the field ofsocial media and film. I feel working together with this
group is a positive decision moving forward.”
