About Our SchoolAbout Our School The Advanced Studies Magnet program works
with key community partners to provide middle
school students with a unique and personalized
learning experience. The program offers a rigorous
and expanded curriculum in all content areas. By the
end of the eighth grade, the Advanced Studies student
can earn a total of 5.5 high school credits.
The Advanced Studies curriculum deepens students’
knowledge of academic subjects allowing them to
exceed state and local achievement standards. All
subjects are taught with emphases on inquiry and
exploration. The ―school within a school‖ format
provides small teacher teams and highly-qualified
teachers that are trained for gifted education.
Of the 50 slots available to incoming sixth grade
students each year, 25 are available to candidates
from the current Southwest attendance zone provided
that admission criteria are met.
Haut Gap is pleased to currently be a technology-
infused iPad Pilot School.
