Photoshop: Selection & Extraction Selection montage 

 Selections task:  

Using Photoshop’s selection and masking tools, create the following composition, positioning content as shown:  

  1. Open the image background and use this 

as your base image 

2. Import the model_in_red_dress image.  Use an 

appropriate selection tool to select the girl 

then mask off the background 

3. Import the lillyflower image.  

Use an appropriate selection tool to 

select the flower and mask off the 

background.  4. Import the poppyflowers image.  Select and mask off the 

background. 

5. Import the blossom image.  Select and mask 

off the background 

6. Import the chinahouse image.  Select and mask off the 

background 

7. Import the bonsai image.  Select and mask 

off he background. 

8. Import the duoflowers image.  Select the left flower 

only and mask off the background.   

9. Import the bigflower image. Select and mask off the background.  

10. Import the duoflower image.  Select the right 

flower and mask off the background.  

Duplicate the layer and rotate to make 

the other similar flowers 

11. Import the orchid image.  Select the flower and mask off 

the background.
