Advanced Search

This manual will provide help and direction for new users of the Office of the Ohio Secretary of State

UCC online portal to utilise the advanced search features.

Search Your UCC Online Portal provides advanced search features to search the UCC Register. You are

provided with advanced search features to find ‘Financing Statement’ entities directly using relevant

reference data and to also search and find entities by searching debtors and/or secured parties.

Number Search The ‘Number’ search function, available on the first tab, provides for you to search ‘Financing

Statement’ entities directly by entering the following search criteria:

• Financing Statement Number, e.g. OH00227608940

• Reference Number, which is the miscellaneous number for UCC3 filings

• Doc ID, the unique document id of a filing made against an entity, e.g. 201334501685

Debtor Search The ‘Debtor’ search function, available on the second tab, provides for you to search ‘Financing

Statement’ entities by searching ‘by debtor’ through entering the following search criteria:

• Debtor Name

o Individual – First Name, Middle Name or Last Name

o Organization – Organization’s name

• Debtor Address – city, state

Secured Party Search The ‘Secured Party’ search function, available on the second tab, provides for you to search ‘Financing

Statement’ entities by searching ‘by secured party’ through entering the following search criteria:

• Secured Party Name

o Individual – First Name, Middle Name or Last Name

o Organization – Organization’s name

• Secured Party Address – city, state

Advanced Search

Search Results Following to a successful search, the results (of the search) will appear in a grid under the search box.

The listing will contain all the entities relating to the search criteria. You can download a PDF or

generate a print file of the listing.

You can then navigate to view the details of the entity you wish to view by clicking on the view icon

on the relevant record. You will then be presented with the entity details screen.

This screen provides you with the following details:

• Main Entity Details – Reg Number, Reg Name, Type, Status, Filing Date and Lapse Date

• Party Information

o Debtor – Name, Address and Relationship Type

o Secured Party – Name, Address and Relationship Type

• Filings – Registered Date, Document Name and Reference No.

o You can filter this grid by utilising the ‘filter’ feature

o You can download the relevant image (of the filing) by clicking on the download

icon
