CDMRP Background
The Office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) Provides:
Research administration for multiple large biomedical research programs
Life cycle management from determination of research gaps, release of RFP, receipt of and two tier review of research proposals
Scientific advisors on award negotiation and oversight Public relations to inform shareholders and encourage applicants Scope
manage approximately $500M of new research funds each fiscal year process 12,000 to 14,000 new research applications/pre-
applications per fiscal year manage approximately 5,000 open grant awards at any given time
Workforce Structure: 25% military/civil service/IPA 75% contractor support
