ADVANCED THERAPY CAPABILITYLinet’s proprietary platform provides continuous lateral therapy via the bed frame. Known as Automatic Lateral Therapy (ALT), this standard feature of Multicare helps to prevent ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP), mobilize secretions and improve gas exchange.

FEATURES FOR EASE OF NURSINGIntegrated scales, LCD control touch panel, Mobi-Lift® handles, a fifth caster, lateral tilt, and foot controls are standard features designed for ease of caregiver use while minimizing the physical strain encountered by the nursing staff when providing care.

PRESSURE ULCER PREVENTIONThe Multicare reduces pressure and friction through its proprietary Ergoframe® technology. Inspired by wound care experts, this feature significantly aids in the prevention of pressure ulcers.

LEADING SAFETY FEATURESSuperior siderails, bed exit alarm, and intelligent braking features ensure the patient is protected from potential falls. The minimum gap siderail design reduces the risk of patient entrapment.

Ensuring effective therapy of the patient is the top priority for high acuity environments. Multicare, with its sophisticated equipment, supports activities needed to help improve patient outcomes.

Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP), atelectasis and other types of pulmonary complications are major issues for immobile patients in the critical care environment. Evidence-based medicine supports appropriate patient positioning to reduce the risk of complications. Ensuring a constant 30 degree head of bed elevation (HOB) has been demonstrated to prevent VAP. With Multicare, visualization of the HOB indicator can be accomplished inside or outside the patient room. The Multicare‘s patented column design ensures a consistent angle of positioning while maintaining patient body alignment. Foot pedal controls allow the nurse to position the patient with both hands, reducing risk of injury to the patient or the caregiver.

LATERAL ROTATION AND SAFETYThe patient‘s safety in the lateral position is secured by reliable split siderails that do not allow adjustment of the lateral tilt until the siderails have been raised.

AUTOMATIC LATERAL THERAPYContinuous lateral positioning therapy can be conveniently adjusted via the touch screen based upon the nurses judgement and patient stability.

Multicare features a standard column design in combination with an X-ray transparent mattress platform, allowing for easy access by any C-arm. The simple and unobstructed undercarriage of the Multicare makes for easy compatibility with x-ray equipment

THERAPY CHAIR POSITION – ENHANCED VENTILATIONIn a comfortable seated position, the lungs are more fully extendable helping to decrease atelectasis. The Therapy Chair position supports improved work of breathing for the patient.

HIGH QUALITY PULMONARY X-RAY WITHOUT STRAIN OR COMPLICATIONSHigh quality X-ray images of the lungs are a basic diagnostic tool for every clinician. The Multicare enables the clinician to obtain an X-ray of the lungs using an adjustable side-entry cassette holder without risk or strenuous transfer of the patient. The innovative method of inserting the X-ray cassette from the side of the bed is convenient and allows better access and more accurate results.

MULTICARE – INJURY PREVENTIONINTELLIGENT BRAKING SYSTEM (I-BRAKE)Linet’s revolutionary intelligent braking system automatically locks the casters after bed movement has stopped. This feature ensures the bed is in a safe and secure position, helping prevent potential patient falls and staff injuries.

The siderail of the Multicare bed helps protect the patient not only against falling, but also against the risk of entrapment or entanglement. The siderails completely cover the most critical areas, from the knees to the head. Designed with minimum gaps, the siderails comply with the latest safety and legislative requirements.

Patients are at risk due to a number of potentially dangerous situations during hospitalization. The most frequent and serious risks include falling, pressure ulcers, and hospital infections. Multicare offers an excellent solution for each of these risks.

Bed Exit Alarm helps to reduce the risk of patient falls. Bed Exit Alarm is a standard feature and can be activated through the control touchscreen.

MULTICARE – SAFE AND ACTIVE MOBILIZATIONThe Multicare bed is equipped to assist the clinician in mobilizing the critically ill patient while reducing the risk of injury to the patient or caregiver. The Mobi-Lift® mobilization handles are integrated in the platform of the bed to serve as support for assisting the patient into a standing position.

The handgrips of the Mobi-Lift® handles include a simple push button for height adjustment by the patient. The use of this feature elevates the bed and allows for safer egress for the patient.

MULTICARE – PRESSURE ULCER PREVENTIONThanks to the sophisticated design of the siderails and open architecture of the mattress platform, various models of mattresses can be used on the Multicare bed. The full range of Linet’s mattresses are ideal, helping to prevent the high risk of pressure ulcers during treatment. Our iGel mattress is a gel-foam hybrid that provides optimal envelopment and excellent pressure redistribution.

MULTI FUNCTION SCREEN – INTUITIVE CONTROL FOR CAREGIVERSThe Multicare, with all features standard, includes a color touch screen display designed for easy control of selected functions by caregivers. Individual screens of the panel enable:

Control of the scale, lateral tilt, automatic lateral therapy (ALT) , bed exit alarm and lockout functions

User interface settings (date, time, language). Display of the technical and service information or user

documentation.

Main menu of the control touch screen is easy to use due to the intuitive graphical layout.

SUPERVISORY PANEL + LCD TOUCH SCREENPositioning functions, including emergency CPR and Therapy chair position are adjustable on the supervisor control as well as the LCD touch screen. There are dedicated buttons for special functions like lateral tilt, automatic lateral therapy, scale control, service information display, and adjustment of language and time.

MULTIPLE CONTROL LOCATIONS

PATIENT INTEGRATED CONTROLSPatient controls are located in 2 different positions inside the siderails. The controls are within reach for patients who are lying down or in a sitting position. Simple icons are easily understood by patients. A patient pendant with integrated exam light, capable of the same functions, also comes standard with all Linet beds.

INTEGRATED SCALE SYSTEMThe scale system integrated in the Multicare allows for accurate pa-tient weights. The multi-function screen serves the purpose of displaying the patient’s weight in absolute, change and “weighing history” modes. Standard features of the integrated scale include a bed exit alarm, weight hold and memory storage of the values.

The two displays on the scale show the actual patient weight and change over time. The hold function eliminates possible measurement errors caused by adding or removing objects to or from the mattress.

The graphical presentation shows a detailed history of patient weight measurement. Weight history can be cleared after the patient leaves the hospital or at any time during their stay.

MULTICARE – EFFECTIVE PREVENTION OF NOSOCOMIAL INFECTIONS

The basis of the effective prevention of hospital infections is the thorough cleaning and disinfection of all surfaces, including the bed. Smooth surfaces ensure that routine decontamination of the bed is very easy, fast and complete.

The foundation of easy hygiene is the column construction. The columns consist of smooth aluminum profiles without gaps and joints. Reliable DC motors are enclosed and protected from contaminants. Open architecture allows unrestricted access to all parts.

The most common source of transmission of infection are places the nursing staff and patient touch multiple times each day. Joint-free technology is applied to the production of the bed parts, eliminating cracks and crevices, making cleaning easier.
