handful of straight pins, thin wooden stick or pencil,hot glue gun

Tall Cactus- With H hook and Hot Green, ch 21.Row 1: Sk 1st ch, 20 sc. – 20 stsRows 2-10: Ch 1, turn. Work rest of Tall Cactus in BLO. Scevenly across.- Form a tube by crocheting Row 10 to Row 1 with sl sts.- Break off leaving approx. 12 inches of yarn.- Use yarn-tail to sew the opening of the tube closed.- Weave in all ends.

Short Cactus- With H hook and Hot Green, ch 14.Row 1: Sk 1st ch, 13 sc. – 13 stsRows 2-10: Ch 1, turn. Work rest of Short Cactus in BLO. Scevenly across.- Form a tube by crocheting Row 10 to Row 1 with sl sts.- Break off leaving about 12 inches of yarn.- Use yarn-tail to sew the opening of the tube closed.- Weave in all ends.

Flower (make 1, 2, or 3)- With G hook and Hot Pink, ch 13.Row 1: Sk 1st ch, 1 sl st, [ch 4, sk 1st ch from hook andwork 3 sl st evenly in rest of chs, 2 sl st evenly back on themain ch] 5 times, ch 4, sk 1st ch from hook and work 3 sl stevenly in rest of chs, 1 sl st back on the main ch. Youshould have 6 “petals.”- Break off leaving approx. 18 inches of yarn.- Tightly roll the foundation chain to form the flower, andwith tapestry needle and yarn-tail, sew through the base ofthe roll to secure the shape. Tie off but keep remainder ofyarn-tail for more sewing later.

Assembly:1. Stuff Tall Cactus and Short Cactus.

2. Sew Flowers to top of Cacti. Weave Flower ends intoCacti.

3. Arrange Cacti onto top of Sand/Dirt and secure withpins if desired.

4. Using Hot Green, sew Tall Cactus and Short Cactus toSand/Dirt.

5. Optional: secure Sand/Dirt in terra cotta pot using hotglue. Create a line of hot glue about 1.5 – 2 inchesdown into pot, then push Sand/Dirt into pot.Otherwise, just place Sand/Dirt into pot without glueand push down to secure.
