Because he is the son of God, and also God Himself!

Kelly:

還有, 耶穌因為愛我們, hái yǒu yē sū yīn wèi ài wǒ men

為我們死在十字架上。wèi wǒ men sǐ zài shí zì jià shàng

And, because Jesus loves us, he died for us on the cross.

Erin:

God should be very powerful, if he died just like that, who will believe him?

Isaac:

Good question. Let me use a story to explain it.

George:

很久很久以前, 有一個王子…hěn jiǔ hěn jiǔ yǐ qián yǒu yí ge wáng zǐ

A long time ago, there was a prince…

Kelly (as prince’s subject):

王子, 你最厲害了, 大家都很wáng zǐ nǐ zuì lì hài le dà jiā dōu hěn

Prince, you are the most powerful, everyone is afraid of you!

Isaac (as the prince):

對! 不聽我的話的人, duì bù tīng wǒ de huà de rén

Yes! People who don’t listen to me, will-not-end-well!

Isaac:

哇, 你是新來的宮女嗎? wā nǐ shì xīn lái de gōng nǚ ma

Woah, are you a new palace maid?

Esther (as the maid):

啊!a

Ah! (Frightened)

George:

王子很想 和新來的小 宮女wáng zǐ hěn xiǎng hé xīn lái de xiǎo gōng nǚ

玩…wán

The prince wants to play with the new palace maid…

Isaac:

可是她太怕我了。怎麼辦呢?kě shì tā tài pà wǒ le zěn me bàn ne

But she is too afraid of me. What can I do?

Kelly:

叫她一定要跟你玩, 她一定jiào tā yí dìng yào gēn nǐ wán tā yí dìng

會聽的!huì tīng de

Tell her that she must play with you, she will definitely listen!

Isaac:

She is so afraid of the prince that she would not really want to play with him.

Isaac:

Never mind, let her go home. I’ll send for her some other time.

George:

過了幾天後…guò le jǐ tiān hòu

After a few days…

Kelly:

王子命令妳和他玩。wáng zǐ mìng lìng nǐ hé tā wán

The prince ordered you to play with him.

Esther:

好…好…好的。hǎo hǎo hǎo de

Ye…ye…yes.

Erin:

How can I make her not afraid of me, and truly want to play with me?

Kelly (as a beggar):

(Comes out as a beggar, and begs Esther for money.)

(Esther gives her money)

法, 但是這跟耶穌有什麼關係呢?fǎ dàn shì zhè gēn yē sū yǒu shén me guān xì ne

The prince found a way to not scare the maid, but what does this have to do with Jesus?

George:

這個王子很厲害, 大家都怕他。zhè ge wáng zǐ hěn lì hài dà jiā dōu pà tā

那神呢?nà shén ne

The Prince is very powerful, everyone is afraid of him, how about God?

Esther (as a student):

神比王子更厲害, 所以人們shén bǐ wáng zǐ gèng lì hài suǒ yǐ rén men

更怕他!gèng pà tā

God is more powerful than the prince, so people will be more scared of him!

Kelly (as a student):

可是神愛祂 創 造的人類,祂kě shì shén ài tā chuàng zào de rén lèi tā

希望人能夠懂得怎麼愛祂。xī wàng rén néng gòu dǒng de zěn me ài tā

But God loves the people he created, He hopes that people can learn to love him.

Isaac (as a student):

喔! 喔! 所以祂就派耶穌來教o o suǒ yǐ tā jiù pài yē sū lái jiāo

Oh! Oh! So he sent Jesus to teach us.

Erin:

(Nods softly to show that she understands.)

George:

祂讓耶穌用最卑微的方式來tā ràng yē sū yòng zuì bēi wēi de fāng shì lái

到這個世界上。dào zhè ge shì jiè shàng

He let Jesus come to this world in the lowest way possible.

Esther:

生在一個臭 臭的馬槽裡。shēng zài yí ge chòu chòu de mǎ cáo lǐ

Born inside a smelly manger.

Kelly:

嬰兒這麼可愛, 怎麼會有人怕yīng ér zhè me kě ài zěn me huì yǒu rén pà

Baby is so cute, how can anyone be afraid of Him?

Isaac:

(Tilts head slightly, as if she can tell where this is going.)

So, everyone, why did God abandoned his awesome power and turn Himself into a man?

To teach people how to love Him!

Esther:

Hmm…還有教人怎麼愛自己。hái yǒu jiāo rén zěn me ài zì jǐ

Hmm…and to teach people how to love themselves.

Isaac:

Hmm… 還有怎樣愛其他人!hái yǒu zěn yàng ài qí tā rén

Hmm…and also, to teach us how to love others!

Erin:

(Arms crossed with a frown, as if she can’t take it anymore…)

George:

只要我們心中 有愛,神的聖靈zhǐ yào wǒ men xīn zhōng yǒu ài shén de shèng líng

就會通過我們jiù huì tōng guò wǒ men

幫助全世界的人!bāng zhù quán shì jiè de rén

As long as we have love in our heart, the Holy Spirit will go through us and help everyone in the world!

Erin:

好了! 我懂了! 別講了! 講得hǎo le wǒ dǒng le bié jiǎng le jiǎng de

Ok! I get it! Stop talking about it! All this talk of love is so sickening!

需要愛的灌溉!xū yào ài de guàn gài

Looks like God’s seed has been planted, now it just needs to be “watered” with love!

George:
