De icer pads are exposed to great stress and conventional technique has proven to be unreliable.
While conventional de icer pads are prone to fail after small damage the newly developed AAIP pads developed by Villinger work even under toughest conditions and after hard abuse.
Design options of AAIP technology de icer pads to the same size, weight and performance then conventional de icer pads as well as design customized pads. AAIP de icer pads feature a highly improved durability over conventional „state of the art“ de icer pads.

Significant fuel savings with AAIP De-Ice Propellers
Calculations and Actual Flight Tests proof that propellers with Villinger AAIP Ice Protection Technology have a measureable and significant performance improvement over propellers with conventional de ice systems.
Accumulating this data for a small regional Airline like “Tyrolean Airways” which operates mainly Bombardier Dash 8 – 400 Turboprop Aircraft and flies around 2500 hours per year the data gives an estimated fuel and emission saving of 450.000 lbs (205.000 kg) per year

Pending ProjectON GROUND Electro-Thermal Wing / Fuselage Anti-Ice application
Calculations are performed towards a Concept using AAIP lighweight electrically heatable coatings on wings and fuselage parts to anti-ice aircraft while on the ground using ground power. Goal is to make chemical de-icing dispensable, save money and ground time as well as helping to protect the enviroment. Villinger is currently searching for development partners
