INDIVIDUAL TEST REPORT

ADULT COGNITIVE TEST -NUMERICAL REASONING

This report is strictly confidential and should be shared with authorised personnel only. The test has been found to be useful as a gauge of a person’s numerical reasoning ability, and should be interpreted appropriately in this context. The score obtained from this test is benchmarked against the norms of an equivalent population sample. It is recommended that this report be used in conjunction with other supplementary information to obtain a clearer perspective of a respondent’s overall numerical reasoning ability.

TEST DESCRIPTIONThe Adult Cognitive Test – Numerical Reasoning (ACT-NR) measures the ability to make use of numerical data and concepts to think clearly and make a judgement. The ACT-NR is an adult cognitive test designed to find out how well candidates are able to reason numerically. It assesses a candidate’s ability to make accurate inferences, proper deductions, recognize assumptions, interpret information, and evaluate arguments. These are qualities deemed crucial in many vocations and jobs.

CANDIDATEREPORT

PERCENTILE SCOREThe result is presented in terms of a percentiile score. The raw score is converted to a number (percentile) indicating the percentage of the norm group who scored below the candidate being tested. For example, if the candidate scored at the 70th percentile, this means that he/she scored the same or better than 70% of the individuals in the norm group. The 50th percentile is known as the median and represents the middle score of the distribution. Percentiles should not be averaged nor treated in any other way mathematically.

Example Candidate completed a cognitive ability test on 2 June 2018. This test has been found to be useful in predicting future potential and performance at work.

BANDINGThe banding represents a grouping of the candidates within a range with an appropriate term reflecting the relative standing of the individual within the range. The banding used ranges from Very Low, Low, Average, High to Very High.
