OBJECTIVE

A position where excellence, integrity, and attention to detail coupled with a strong work ethic can enhance the overall success of the company while gaining experience to continue my professional growth.

PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

Over the past 6 years as active duty Air Force, I have become a professional Information Technology Specialist with well-developed skills and experience in deploying, securing, sustaining, troubleshooting, and repairing standard voice, data, and video network infrastructure systems, IP detection/intrusion systems and cryptographic equipment.

PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE

Provides mission critical voice, data and video services. Installs, upgrades, replaces, configures and maintains systems/circuits that access military, Federal and commercial networks. Manages infrastructure devices and systems using the latest approved software tools. Deploys and operates expeditionary communications systems. Uses agile logistics support channels to sustain continuous network operations. Removes, repairs and replaces assemblies and subassemblies to optimally sustain voice, data and video networks. Establishes priorities, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs network systems equipment and circuits utilizing tools and test equipment. Isolates malfunctions using diagnostic software, technical data, block diagrams, voltage and waveform measurements, and other tests requiring specialized test equipment. Monitors performance of systems and circuits. Coordinates with coalition forces, DoD agencies and other service providers to analyze and isolate performance faults and implement corrective actions. Checks equipment for serviceability and performs preventive maintenance. Isolates faults by coordinating with commercial service providers and depots to test system components and assemblies. Maintains and administers network and circuit databases, records and forms. Interprets sketches and layout drawings for placement of distribution systems. Coordinates request for service orders. Reviews, recommends, and implements changes to communications-computer systems installations records (CSIR), technical data, engineering drawings, and equipment wiring diagrams. Updates and verifies entries on system, facility, maintenance, and inspection records. Initiates, tracks, and maintains shipping, receiving, supply, and equipment documents. Conducts periodic inspections of systems installations and repair activities. Interprets inspection reports and implements corrective actions, documents inspection and maintenance actions. Reviews and maintains operational measurement reports and analyzes network utilization. Ensures equipment and components meet installation practice technical order and accepted commercial installation specifications. Applies communications security programs to include physical, cryptographic, transmission, and emission security. Develops and ensures compliance with safety standards and instructions.

Network Security:- Designed and implemented Access Control Lists for hardening of classified and unclassified networks using Cisco & Juniper technologies. - Configure and sustain classified Voice over Secure Internet Protocol phones by implementing network encryption devices, TacLanes that pass data across the public internet. I provided global secure communication and quality assurance that ensures 100% uptime for customers.

- Engineer and maintained Secure Internet Protocol Router Network solution extending classified network services to 5,000+ members using network encryption devices. I configured KG175A’s and KG175D’s to create classified networks allowing access to multiple services such as: files server, database servers, mail server, print server, web server, proxy server, and share point.

- Implemented 802.1x server requiring over 5,000 computers & wireless access points to authenticate with server before allowing access to the network. Also configured the server for Active Directory Certificate Services adding an addition layer of security at the end user side.

- Configure switches with port security, setting a specified mac-address limit denying network access to unauthorized computers and phones. Requiring customers to coordinate with my office before adding new computers and moving computers, implementing network admin at the end user.

- Configured multiple VLANs to segregate data by the type of traffic being sent such as: data traffic, voice traffic, printer traffic and classified traffic enabling additional security in the data link layer

Network Infrastructure:- Provide network admin to 30+ units, over 5,000 users, on Creech AFB conducting Remote Piloted Aircraft missions. I maintain unclassified and classified data, voice (analog & digital), network printing and network encryption.

- Complete installation of unclassified and classified data, voice (analog & digital), network printing and network encryption. Once buildings are finished being built and cleared for network setup, I go in to mount all required equipment and patch all necessary ports using Cat-5/Cat-6 cable. Upon completion of the install, the unit moves in and has access to all classified and unclassified networks and services permitting critical mission operation.

- More than proficient in configuring host names, local user accounts, user authentication servers (TACACS), VLANs, assigning ports in VLANs, port security, classes of service, quality of service, speed, duplex, bandwidth, ip addressing, subnetting, static routes, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, etc. on routers and switches manufactured by Cisco and Juniper.

- Configure Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) to redistribute routing information, back-n-forth, into 2 separate OSPF routing instances. This translates and allows routes to be built between Cisco & Juniper routers (Chasis’) in a Wide Area Network.

- Able to add Cisco & Juniper switches to existing virtual chassis’ enabling activation of additional users upon end user saturation and future scalability of additional services.

- Upgrade Operating Systems using TFTP, FTP, or RCP protocols to upload the image to the router/switch then use the command line interface to push the new image in place of the old one. This allows security and known bug fixes to take effect.

- Configure and sustain unclassified Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phones and Analog phones by implementing voice VLANs that pass traffic across its own virtually separated network. This provided global communication and quality assurance that ensures 100% uptime for customers.

- Built over 1,000 paths of Singlemode & Multimode fiber using Standard Connector (SC), Straight Tip (ST), Lucent Connector (LC) and Media Termination - Recommended Jack (MT-RJ) fiber connecting 100 buildings to enable critical mission networks that operate on Creech AFB.

- Fabricate Standard Connector (SC), Straight Tip (ST), Lucent Connector (LC) and Media Termination - Recommended Jack (MT-RJ) fiber, Cat-5 & 6, RJ-45, Coaxial and 25-pair Amphenol

- Restore circuit outages by coordinating with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and rerouting fiber path to alternate circuit allowing restoration of all services.

- Install & Troubleshoot secure Video TeleConference for management representatives

Cryptography:- Install network cryptographic devices, General Dynamics TacLane (KG17A, KG175D, KG250) on the internal unclassified network to send encrypted data and voice traffic to enabling classified network.

- Configured TacLane for dynamic failover using 2 virtual tunnels to established a point-to-point connection and using OSPF to build redundant routes to the classified network used by critical end users nodes.

- Inspect TacLanes ensuring keying material is not expired eliminating a COMSEC incident

- Cryptographic key updates of over 200 network encryption devices ensuring secure communications

- Primary COMSEC Responsibility Officer, maintaining all records of inventories and keying material
