ADRENALINE FITNESS APPLICATION
User Experience Design for the Android Platform.
The concept for this application is based on the fitness secrets of Martial Artists. The reason for this
is simple, professional and even amateur fighters are known for being amongst the fitness athletes
worldwide. The application circuits are designed around and aimed to promote three of the key
elements in Martial Arts; Strength, Endurance, and Power, this being the tagline for the brand.
Strength is one’s ability to shift something of weight, Power is the speed said weight can be moved
and endurance is the ability to maintain this work ratethroughout a period of time.
Some could argue that strength and power are one. This could not be more wrong in the world of
martial arts training. If someone is strong they can move an object that could be the weight of your
opponent, or your own body weight, either way the object needs moved. For example someone
weighing 11st could have strength to push kick an opponent of similar weight (holding a kick shield)
to the far end of the gym. It may take several minutes and multiple kicks to do so but the point is
that eventually they will get there, proving they are strong enough to move the weight. If this
person is powerful it means they can use their strength to be explosive, combining their kicks into
powerful bursts that allow them to move their partner a greater distance with less kicking involved.
In a bodyweight circuit a person weighing 11st will have that used against them as resistance. In an
exercise like the Burpee, a person will move from a standing position jumping down into push-up
then jumping their knees into the chest to a crouched position then from here exploding into a high
vertical jump before going back into a standing position. It is the height and speed of the jump at
the end of the move is what will improve and indicate the power that person has. To perform the
move with perfect form it takes strength, endurance and power. It is strength that moves the body
into the several positions and to perform the push up and it takes power to complete the explosive
jump and the end and finally the repetition of this takes endurance to overcome fatigue.
Endurance can mean a lot of things, it is measured by a person’s ability to exert one self and remain
active for a set period of time. For low intensity training like jogging or walking this could mean
hours, but in this instance it means minutes due to the high intensity nature of the training.
Alternatively, endurance is also the ability to resist, withstand, recover, and the immunity a person
has to wounds, or fatigue. Hence the importance to Martial Arts as some rounds can take the toll
through injury and trauma and it is their endurance that can carry them through. Endurance training
alone can break down a person’s strength which is why it is important that these elements are
combined as to not cancel each other out.
These 3 key elements in the Adrenaline Fitness Application are what make it unique from anything
currently available. No matter your target, be it weight loss, muscle toning or fitness, manipulating
these training programmes to suit your needs will help you on your way to achieving all your goals.

and time your exercises for you. Tracking you heart rate will allow any user to stay within their
recommended zone based on their profile details and will provide those looking to lose body fat
percentage with the right information to keep each workout within that fat blasting zone.
Tracking you reps means no cheating! This ensures faster but realistic progress. Healthy
competition is always great but when it comes to building your endurance, the only important
competition is yourself. Each circuit is a new opportunity to improve on the last. Adrenaline tracks
each workout in the user profiles and rewards them with those important social media bragging
points when they smash their bests!
By completing bonus features like flexibility exercises or challenges the user can unlock
achievements giving them bragging rights on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Each
user has a profile that they can complete,containing information about their BMI and explaining
their Max heart rate. When training for weight loss it is important to reach your body’s heart rate at
which it begins to burn fat cells. The Adrenaline fitness app records this information by asking
general but important questions during the initial sign up stage and as you work out the app updates
