In carrying out field survey in connection with the study, we received support and assistance from a large number of people. During the field surrey, some Agricultural Extension Officers and village level extension workers helped me a lot by providing necessary information. The sample farmers interviewed were invariably very cordial and always patient enough to answer all the questions asked.

Some of our ex-students particularly, Mr. Sharbeswar Goary and Abdul Gani helped me needfully in carrying out field survey. Dr. Abdul Hadi, another ex-student helped us a lot in proof reading exercise of the book. We thank all of them for their sincere co-operation and assistance.

We had to do a good deal of library work. Besides the library of North Bengal University, We had to depend on Guwahati University library and Bamagar College library. We would like to thank the authorities of all the three libraries for allowing me to use the libraries.
