• Subject – what is the image about, how do you know this?

• Elements – formally analyse the elements and layout.

• Materials – what materials and techniques have been use, and why?

Adobe Creative Workflow Design Problem 1

• Using the Monotype task files on the website create the following two page spread: Theme: Grunge Style

Page layout: 3 pages – facing (dummy front page) 250mm wide x 380mm high Columns: 3 Gutter: 5mm Margins: 10mm Bleed: 3mm

Content layout: Using the three column grid layout your choice of images and the text in an interesting layout which uses Hierarchy to support the visual direction of the design. You may resize any of the objects and text to suite your layout.

Images: You must use at least 5 images. After placement; images will need to be exported to Photoshop and edited to support the theme of the layout. Further stock images can also be used to provide texture and depth to your design.

Graphics: A range of graphics need to be created in Illustrator to support direction in the design. These should then be imported into the InDesign document and placed appropriately. They will need to be exported for editing if required.

Research: Investigate the theme of magazine layout using research tools.

Bridge Task 11 – : Monday 5th.

• Critically compare a range of materials and processes used in art and design through experimental application:

• You need to explain what you have done, the techniques and processes you have used and the materials you have included in your work.

• Using your design, create a number of screen shots and discuss:

• How you developed it, and why?

• What software you used, how, and why?

• The software tools and techniques you used in detail.

• How you used hierarchy, visual direction and balance in your work, and why?

• How you feel your work communicates the theme to your audience, and why?

• How you might use your findings in your own work and the value of doing so.
