Slide 5 - Contract Terms Authoring with Word Add-in
Slide notesEnterprise Contracts provides a comprehensive solution for managing your sales contracts. Standard clauses, terms templates, and business rules are set up in the Contract Terms Library. From these, the legal language can be quickly created on a contract. The terms can be edited directly in the Contracts application, or from Microsoft Word.
With this release, a Word add-in can be installed from the Contracts application using the Download Add-in for Microsoft Word action from the Edit Contract page.
After signing in, you have access to a Contracts menu where you can take actions such as adding pre-defined sections or clauses from the Library.
You can also select and insert contract variables into clause text. You can step through them in the contract to add values to user defined variables.
The same security settings that govern your data and actions in Enterprise Contracts are enforced within Word. Actions that require Oracle Sales Cloud access require a log in. Similarly, all controls, such as the behavior of clauses marked Mandatory or Protected, apply to anyone editing contracts in Word. Any changes made to clauses in the Word document by users without the necessary privileges will be prevented upon uploading the contract back to the application.

Slide 6 - Contract Terms Authoring with Word Add-in
Slide notesContract authors often prefer to work from Word when editing terms and conditions. Now you can stay within Word and leverage the rich content of the Terms library to edit your contract.
As well as adding clauses by writing nonstandard clause text in the contract, you can now search and add standard clauses, sections, and variables from the Terms Library without leaving Word.
Because standard clauses are referenced directly from the Terms Library, these changes made in Word are recognized as standard clauses when uploading the contract back to the application, instead of all clauses edits appearing as nonstandard.
