On behalf of the College of Computing at Georgia Tech, I am delighted to invite you to join our online offering of the Master of Science program in Computer Science for Spring 2016. Admission is extremely competitive, and your qualifications have distinguished you in a pool of very strong applicants. I hope you will accept this invitation. The academic requirements of this program are the same as those offered to students on campus. You may find these requirements at www.cc.gatech.edu/future/masters/mscs/program , and you may find the requirements for Specializations that can be completed through the Online version of the program at www.omscs.gatech.edu/program/ . We do not currently offer the project or thesis options online; students should plan to complete this program by taking courses only. To be able to continue in the program after the first 12 months from your date of matriculation, you must complete a foundational coursework requirement of 2 courses in the program with a grade of B or better. Information on which courses constitute foundational courses are available at www.omscs.gatech.edu/courses/ . Registration for new students is scheduled to begin on January 7, 2016 , and classes begin on January 11, 2016. New students will be limited to a registering for no more than two classes at a time until after completing the foundational coursework requirement. Additional registration instructions and information on online orientation will be e-mailed to students accepting our offer shortly before the start of the semester. Payment for tuition and fees is due at the time of registration and must be paid in full by January 15, 2016 (the last day of registration). Please note that your admission into this program is not official until a final check of your credentials by Georgia Tech's Office of Graduate Studies. This check includes verification that we have received official transcripts from every college or university you have attended for academic credit, that you have been awarded a four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, that you have satisfied the requirement for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) if it is applicable to you, and that you are in compliance with the University System of Georgia's requirement that students who are in the United States are Lawfully Present.
