This pretty hill station got its name from the word “mansor”, meaning a shrub that was once

independence era, a canon was shot from the hilltop every afternoon for informing the locals
about the time. The ropeway ride to the Gun Hill is very popular among the travelers here.
Another major attraction of Mussoorie is the Lal Tibba, which is also called as the Depot Hill
owing to the location of a depot in this region. The hill is also renowned for being the home to the
towers of Doordarshan and of All India Radio (AIR). Besides the pretty hills, Mussoorie is also renowned for its angelic waterfalls such as the Kempty Falls, Mossy Falls and Jharipani Falls.
Kempty falls, nestled at an altitude of 4500 ft above sea level is a must-visit spot in this hill
