WHO ARE THE PARENTS OF PINNACLE (POP)? The Parents of Pinnacle (POP) is the main Parent Organization on the PHS campus. You can compare us to the PTA/PTO’s from your elementary or middle schools. Different from elementary and middle school, high school has a wide array of programs & clubs that students can become involved.

When students join a sports team or club, the parents usually support that individual team or club and by doing so, think they are supporting the school as a whole. Unfortunately, this is a misconception. Memberships and dues paid to teams and clubs stay within that program. POP works behind the scenes to make each students experience at PHS special. POP needs the support of all of our families to be successful.

WHAT DOES POP DO? POP’s Mission is to support the Pinnacle student body as a whole, including the individual booster clubs on campus.

• POP carries the school wide 501(c)3 status that each team and club needs to operate.

• POP carries the insurance that is required by the PV School District for all clubs to operate.

• POP oversees bank accounts and does tax preparation for all clubs.

• Teacher & Staff Appreciation (provides breakfasts, lunches and treats to our amazing PHS staff),

• Project Grad – The all night safe drug & alcohol free celebration for our senior class.

• “POP Star” Scholarships.

• POP also works closely with Dr. Smith and the PHS administration on any projects that may come up during the school year. The Parents of Pinnacle’s operating budget is $60,000 each year. We need support from our families to meet our budgetary goals. Please help us continue the tradition of offering great events for our students, teachers and staff.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT FOR PARENTS TO JOIN AND SUPPORT POP? The answer is simple. . . to support your student’s high school!

HOW YOU CAN HELP 1. Turn in your membership form along with your dues/donation

With over 2400 students at Pinnacle we should be able to easily reach our fundraising goal. If each family were to join POP (memberships fees are $25), we would raise $60,000. It would eliminate the need for other fundraisers.

2. Support a Program If you would like to support a specific program, you can do that on the membership form as well.

3. Volunteer, Volunteer, Volunteer To have successful programs, we need the help of parents. The great news is we do all of our work behind the scenes so your students won’t see you on campus.

Thank you in advance to all of our Pinnacle High School Families for your continued support of POP and what we do. We couldn’t do what we do without each one of you!
