Adlerian Family TherapyAbout this Learning OpportunityThe Idaho Society of Individual Psychology has
been in existence since 1977. In recent years, ISIP’smembership has grown primarily due to the inter-est in the training and opportunities for CE creditsfor social workers of all levels, counselors, andother mental health professionals. ISIP is dedicat-ed to bringing quality education to practitionersin order to increase their professional skills in serv-ing a wide variety of client needs.
The SERIES described below began in Boise,October 2001, with over 357 graduates to date.The SERIES began in Lewiston, May 2004, and inPocatello May 2005.
The SERIES of workshops leading to aCertificate of Professional Studies in AdlerianPsychology are:#1 Adlerian Theory of Personality
Development and Family Functioning#2 Adlerian Psychotherapy#3 Adlerian Family TherapyThese workshops may be attended in any order.
Completion of all three workshops, plus atten-dance at one ISIP Annual Conference, enables anindividual to receive the Certificate ofProfessional Studies in Adlerian Psychology.
Workshop DescriptionParticipants will learn the Adlerian Family
Therapy process, parenting styles and the goalsof misbehavior. The workshop will also focus onthe Adlerian Therapy process, assessment andtreatment considerations and explore familycommunication strategies – Adlerian Style.
Course Objectives• Apply Adlerian Psychology concepts andprinciples in family therapy.
• Understand the impact of the “DemocraticRevolution” on contemporary familyrelationships.
• Assess the parenting style/goals of mis-behavior and support families in developingrelationships based on mutual respect.
• Incorporate Lifestyle Assessment into FamilyTherapy.
• Learn creative Adlerian Psychology applica-tions with younger children.

Featured Speaker: Edward Mowry, M.Ed.Edward Mowry has worked for 16 years as a School Counselor. He has presented trainings to private indus-
try for another ten years. He worked with At-Risk Youth in an Alternative School for ten years as a Counselor and
Substance Abuse Interventionist, and was in Private Practice. Edward developed a program for developing
learning skills of struggling At-Risk students which enabled their demonstration of achievement on Statewide
Testing and enhanced their skills & participation in classrooms.
Edward is focused on the utility of Adlerian Psychology in Counseling, Education, Work Environments, Family
Life, and Personal Well Being. Edward is a Member-at-Large and Past-President of ISIP, with Certificates in Basic
Adlerian Studies and in Advanced Adlerian Studies.
