1963-64 Resident Architect, Federal Ministry of Work and Housing Kaduna.
Supervision and Administration of Federal Government Building Projects
including military installation in Kaduna and Zaria supervised a large staff of
both indigenous and expatriate Professionals and the construction of a
variety of building type worth N6 million then.
1965-68 Senior Architect v Federal Ministry of Works and Housing Lagos. I was in
charge of Federal Medical Facilities involved in the design Construction,
supervision and contract administration of medical facilities Architecture.
1968-69 A break in continuous public service. An associate of Adedokun Adeyemi
Associate – a family firm of architects. Work involve the design and the
supervision of a variety of projects including Contract administration of
works on –going.
Large scale design of private housing for varying categories of Individuals
with costs ranging from N30,000 – N60,000 in the 60’s

1969- 71 Lecturer, in Architecture, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Assignments
Included classroom and design studio instruction. Year Master to final Year
BArch students in 1969, 1970 and 1971.
Spring 74 Visiting Lecturer to Pratt Institute, Brooklyn New York. Classroom
and studio instruction in Climate and Design for the t tropics.
1974 Senior Lecturer and Ag. Head of Department, Department of Architecture,
Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
1975 Appointed on 1st October Professor of Architecture and Substantive Head of
Architecture. Department to1986. Also Deputy Dean of the Faculty of
Environmental Design, Ahmadu Bello.University, Zaria, 1975.
1976–80 Elected Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Design, Ahmadu Bello
University. I was able to consolidate the achievements of the past in Faculty
building and preceded to building a respectable image that made the Faculty
the first among faculties of Environmental Design in Nigerian Universities. It
has, since then become the premier institution in environmental design
education.
Spring ’82 Visiting Professor of Architecture, University of Sheffield, England. I was able
to visit most schools of architecture in England and Germany, thus gaining
tremendous experience of architectural education in European schools.
1976 -86 Design critic and External Examiner to the Universities in Lagos, Ife, Enugu,
Jos , Imo, Port Harcourt and Ekpoma.

1985 – 86 With others selected from across Nigeria and Britain, designed the academic
Programme for education in Architecture, land, Economy, Urban and Regional
Planning, Quantity Surveying and Industrial Art.
1986 Transferred service to the Federal University of Technology, Akure. Appointed
the Dean of the Defunct School of Environmental Sciences and Fine Arts.
Started pioneering work which was halted with the NUC cancellation of the
programme in January 1987.
1987 Appointed Director of Postgraduate Studies, Federal University of Technology.
Akure. I did the groundwork for the effective take-off of the School of
Postgraduate Studies. I continued as the Chairman of the Board of Postgraduate
Studies until 1992 when I had to take on a national assignment.
1988 Appointed Dean of the newly created School Environmental Technology. I did a
lot of ground work to ensure the take-off of various programmes in
Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Estate, Management and Urban and Regional
Planning. The fifth Department of Industrial design was added in 1992. I
combined this role with that of the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University
aside from being chairman to many University Committees.

1992 Akure in between, I was appointed chairman, National Monitoring committee
for the N25m Grant to Each federal University.
1994 Second Time Dean, School of Environmental Technology
