Adelaide Art Society 112 Margaret St NORTH ADELAIDE 5006 Adam Opala to be the Featured Artist at the Opening of the Adelaide Art Society Winter Exhibition Saturday 20th August at 2:00pm Adam Opala was born in Poland and spent his childhood dreaming of becoming an artist. Although he studied Agriculture at university, Adam indulged in his artistic passions, drawing, painting and sculpting in his free time. Migrating to Australia in the 80’s, Adam became an architectural illustrator, retiring only 2 years ago. During this time, he continued to paint landscapes and portraits for pleasure. Since retirement, Adam has devoted all his spare time to his art and is a member of both Adelaide Art Society and Royal South Australian Society of the Arts where he has also performed portrait demonstrations. He has exhibited in various community events as well as local exhibitions and the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Adam’s favourite mediums are oil paints, pastel, charcoal and water colour. He particularly enjoys life drawing, portraits and landscapes, always preferring to paint from nature, rather than from photographs.
