PASTOR APPRECIATION MONTH I would like to remind everyone that October is Pastor Appreciation Month. The greatest need of our pastors is prayer! I have borrowed an article from Mark Dances “33 Ways to Bless Your Pastor.I would encourage you to give appreciation to all your ministers on staff. Mark gives us some suggestions: Express love and encouragement in writing and/or in person. Set out a gift basket in the church lobby for notes and gifts. Mow the pastors lawn when his family is on vacation or ministry leave. Give a gift card to the ministry couples favorite restaurant and provide creative childcare options. Ask your pastor how you can specifically pray for his family. Deliver a favorite dessert/meal to his home or office. Arrange and purchase a couples retreat. Give a brief word of encouragement and prayer on a Sunday morning. Include his familys photo in print and social media outlets. Take your pastor for a meal and talk about his life, not ministry. Loan out your favorite vacation spot (cabin, camper, time-share). Celebrate with them in the joys of life, such as a new baby, graduations, weddings, etc. Support your pastor as he ministers outside your church. Form a covenant group who is committed to praying for your pastors each day of the week. Encourage at least one day of Sabbath rest each week. Care for your pastors health by sponsoring a health club membership Take your pastor somewhere fun: game, concert, hunting, etc. Specifically share how God has used him to challenge, enrich, and encourage your walk with Jesus. Allow your pastors wife to be herselfand find her own ministry niche. Financially support your pastor and wife as they attend marriage-strengthening events and getaways. Remember birthdays with a personal card or social media blessing. Allow your pastors children to just be kids. Give unused sports or concert tickets to your pastors family. Encourage your ministry family to have friends in the church. Please express your gratitude for your ministers! PASTOR APPRECIATION MONTH I would like to remind everyone that October is “Pastor Appreciation Month.” The greatest need of our pastors is prayer! I have borrowed an article from Mark Dance’s “33 Ways to Bless Your Pastor.” I would encourage you to give appreciation to all your ministers on staff. Mark gives us some suggestions:

Express love and encouragement in writing and/or in person. Set out a gift basket in the church lobby for notes and gifts. Mow the pastor’s lawn when his family is on vacation or ministry leave. Give a gift card to the ministry couple’s favorite restaurant and provide creative childcare options. Ask your pastor how you can specifically pray for his family. Deliver a favorite dessert/meal to his home or office. Arrange and purchase a couple’s retreat. Give a brief word of encouragement and prayer on a Sunday morning. Include his family’s photo in print and social media outlets. Care for your pastor’s health by sponsoring a health club membership Take your pastor somewhere fun: game, concert, hunting, etc. Specifically share how God has used him to challenge, enrich, and encourage your walk with Jesus. Allow your pastor’s wife to “be herself” and find her own ministry niche. Financially support your pastor and wife as they attend marriage-strengthening events and getaways. Remember birthdays with a personal card or social media blessing. Allow your pastor’s children to just be kids. Give unused sports or concert tickets to your pastor’s family. Encourage your ministry family to have friends in the church.

Please express your gratitude for your ministers! We are blessed in Beckham Mills Baptist Association with outstanding ministers and pastors! I say, “Thank You!” Love Being Your Director of Missions, Danny Ringer

BAPTIST COLLEGIATE MINISTRY NEWS

Dear Association, Wow!!! I just want to say that it has been a busy month here at the BCM. We have many new faces each week. So far we are averaging around 50 students each Wednesday meal. God is really

blessing with great conversations with students each week. We have students from all over and all different backgrounds. I look

forward to each week as churches come to serve and meet the students on the Sayre campus. Thank you again for serving the

students of the SWOSU Sayre campus.

God Bless

AUGUST REPORT Truckers are still rolling across the country today. They enjoy sing-ing as my wife leads, especially the old time Gospel songs. It gets them in the mood to stop and listen. Bibles are moving. It’s wonderful to see them picking them up.Some people stop by just to see what’s going on and maybe listen for a while to the Word. Please keep praying for us as we work with the drivers. Wheels are rolling and we pray they roll in the right direction. Happy trails and may God Bless. Randy and Denise
