Please know that the capacity listed for each rental space does not account for any additional equipment, vendors, or configurations for your museum event and the capacity for your event may be lower based on your overall layout. Please consult with the Museum Rental Coordinator for additional information.

Additional rental costsMEMBERSHIPMembership in Friends of the Museum is required to rent the Museum. Non-members will be billed $72.43 for a membership and will enjoy full benefits of a one-year family membership including free or reduced admission to Museum special exhibits and free admission to more than 300 science museums worldwide.
SECURITYSecurity personnel are paid to arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the event and remain until 30 minutes after the event is contracted to end. There is a 3-hour minimum for officers to be scheduled. The Museum Rental Coordinator will make all security arrangements and notify Client of quantity needed. The cost is $35 per hour per officer.
TECHNICAL FEESAudiovisual equipment is available throughout the Museum. Requests for A/V needs are required 30 days prior to the event. A full list of equipment, pricing and technician fees is available upon request.
MUSEUM STORESThe Museum Store and the Center Store are avail able for after-hours events. There is a staffing fee required for this service based off of the total hours of your event.

GENERAL INFORMATIONThe Museum closes at 5 p.m. Event rentals are typically scheduled between 6 and 10 p.m. Additional times are accommodated as available.
For the safety of our animals, the following items arenot allowed in the Museum: balloons, bubbles, confetti, fog machines, popcorn and streamers.
Cut flowers may be used but live, potted plants are not
allowed in the Museum.
Amplified music is allowed in certain areas of the Museum. Staff will let you know where these areas are located.
A dance floor must be used in all areas designated for dancing.
The Client shall provide greeters for the event.
Outside food and alcohol are not permitted.
Smoking is prohibited throughout the Museum.

The Museum reserves the right to refuse any event, or to slightly alter an event’s layout, menu or other detail to meet Museum guidelines. We will work with you to ensure that your event is a wonderful occasion.

Educational programsENHANCE YOUR SPECIAL EVENTWITH MUSEUM EDUCATORS!Entertain your guests with programs on everything from dinosaurs and whales to spiders and snakes. These hands-on programs will inspire enthusiasm for learning more about these amazing creatures. We are happy to customize or create a program to suit your interests! Pricing is customized for each program and starts at $100/hour.
